A few questions i hope someone might answer for my since the um csr-arnoldg is as useless as a cdef pistol for help this morning.
1. Does master politician have any benefits to it at all vs 4444
2. is research really a usefull specialization for its cost
3. are there any real benefits besides being larger as a level 5 city versus level 4
preciate any help with these yall could offer, i was drafted to take over mayor when our's had to leave swg for awhile so im not very up to date on mayor and what ive seen the holocron is extremely outdated. my towns been a job market for months now but recently a crafter wanted to know about changing to reserch and i wanted to get some opinions on is it worth it versus losing the bonus to mission payouts. thanks.

1. nope
2. it's a pretty popular specialization, and I guess it depends on how many crafters you have or want to attract.
3. nope
you shouldn't ask CSR these things anyways, they usually don't have the most updated answers

Pappi pretty much covered it.
Being on Dantooine, your city having improved jobs is likely worth thousands of credits per missions to your citizens.
You could team up with another city either nearby and coordinate your specializations.
For example, Our city is Medical Facility ( for buff bonus ) and our neighbours to the east are an Entertainment District ( or will be again when it is fixed /sigh) and our neighbours to the north are a research facility for the crafting.
Or...you could delcare one day a week to be crafting day, ( preferably the day before the city update ) - change your specialization to research and then back to jobs market after the update!
**Oh! I forgot being level five , you get three more skill trainers to place ( 15 total ) , and can place more decorations just in case people zipping through your town arent lagging enough!!!

Hrmm, does this work?
I've read reports that the actual specialization bonus does not kick in until after a city update....
It's not immediate. So, at the time of the City Update, you're stuck with the curently selected specialization until the next city update.
Not sure this would even be very easy to test and verify, being that all these darned specializations are very "behind the scenes" type number adjusters.

Now that you mention it, It might either take a day to take effect or the next update....it has been awhile since i have done it
*scratches head*
Then its crafting week!

Preciate the answers yall, and your right pappi after 15 monhts here is should know never ask a CSR for anything, beyond how to say we cant help you your screwed 50 different ways LOL. so far ive got over 100 declared citizens and only have been asked about reserch one time so im guessing the majority prefer the bonus running missionsfrom jobsand the sologroups coming through town do help vending alot.
since im assuming some of yall have used research before does it really make an impact in your opinion? i know its got to have the placebo effect for the crafters just saying its a research town, im more curious about the real benefits to it if any of you craft also. Id love to throw the crafters a bone , but id like it also to be worth the hassles id catch from the other side losing the payout bonus. thanks again

I'm mayor of a metropolis on naboo. We're a research center, and yes, it makes a difference. Not a jump-up-slap-you-in-the-face difference, but the crafters can tell. Being that we're not on an advanced planet, we're not near a poi, and we don't have bases, it's the best specialization for us. It keeps our crafters happy, who keep the mall stocked, and the 1% sales tax pays for the specialization. For you on dantooine, improved job market will draw tons of solo group hunters, and they'll need new armor, weapons, meds, food, ect.. while they're hunting. Since they're in town already to grab missions, and they're making better money there, they may just spend some time at your vendors. Present it that way when your crafters ask, and let them decide what they'll prefer.
