Thread: An odd bug that happenned this week...
- I recieved an email saying that our city contracted to level 3.
- I recieved a string of several emails saying that decorations had been removed.
- I recieved a string of several emails saying that trainers had been removed.
- I recieved an email that the shuttleport and garage had been removed for being out of the city limits (not due to level... they are on the outskirts)
- I recieved a string of several emails that several houses and merchant tents had been placed in the city... all of these are in the same area as the shuttleport and garage, out on the edges of the city. some said they were placed by me... that was my tip off to what actually happenned.
- when i looked on the terminal it still said level 4 with the citizens in red, just like always
now here's my answer to what happenned: when the city updated, it temporarilly dropped us to level three before putting us back at level 4 for the one week grace periodeveryone gets when their cities run low on people. this may have been a minute or it may have been a second, either way a second would have been all it took. all the civic structures outside the level 3 city limit were immediately destroyed (the shuttle and garage) and several decorations were destroyed to bring us down to the level 3 limit.
Now there's not a lot I can do about this, I talked with a CSR, who had no idea what I was talking about and started explaining that i need to have 55 citizens to be level 4 and have a shuttle (duh) and that i needed to get 55 in order to place another one. Now I didn't start yelling and re explaining myself, since I honestly don't think there was anything she could do anyway, It was just a little frustrating talking to someone and feeling patronized about the basics of city levels after I stated in my ticked this whole scenario and that I had been running the city since hey went active. anyway... I promptly went out and bought another deed and replaced the shuttle (without adding another person i might add) as i should have ben able to. But anyway, the point of this is twofold:
City levels should not be "hiccuping" to a lower level and wreaking havoc upon coming up short on citizens, it has never done this before...
CSR's need to have a memo about this 'grace period' we always get since they apparently don't a thing about it. or at least this one didn't. maybe a really detailed diagram of the mechanics of player cities...
If anyone else is running close to their citizen limit keep a close eye on it, It would be a shame for other cities to de-level for an instant during the update process. Also, I'm curious to know if this has happenned to anyone else...
