Lo all,
i am going to start a new city on dantooine that is strictly a crafting city, before I do i wanted to check some things to make sure it can all go swimmingly:
1. When a city hall is placed, does the city have to immediately start then? Or is it that 24 hours after i declare a city 10 people need to declare residence?
2. Does starting this new city already as a master politician help?
3. Is it medium nabooian houses that all link together creating a street type look?
4. Does the city immediately become its specialization? (ie. Reserch Center?)
I had more questions... but they have completely gone out of my head now, will post them as soon as i remember them
Thank you in advance for your help

10 citizens are required within the first 24 hours or else poof
2. Does starting this new city already as a master politician help?
Not really, just means you can add people to the militia, drop terminals and lamps the first day instead of waiting a week and frankly if your citizens can't wait a week to get mission terminals...well you're probably going to have issues.
3. Is it medium nabooian houses that all link together creating a street type look?
Medium nubian, corellian, and generic all fill their lot size so they can touch producing a wall or mainstreet look depending on what you're shooting for. The nubian ones have a nicer facade then the corellian/gen ones in my opinion but being the loyal corellian son I am they do have a good utilitarian ability and fulfill the wall appearance swimmingly.
4. Does the city immediately become its specialization? (ie. Reserch Center?)
specializations require rank 3 and the politician to have the skill (you should be able to get thataround the time you hit rank 3 if you're really focused on it (assuming you have either a lot of people in the city at the onset to get a bank of experience or it takes you awhile to get new citizens so you're stockpiling previous week xp dumps.)

Only way is to try it. Best way to guess the # on a planet is to hit up mission terminals on the planetary map. That tends to be the first thing a city drops so you'd be able to see even rank 2's and 1's. Not perfect though since a brand new city can't drop those yet and who knows maybe there's a city and it doesn't have mission terminals.
