As far as I know, nothing will be done about it.

Okay, so it is true that there is nothing a CSR can or will do about it... However,I would suggest you at least discuss this with the mayor. He is likely simply trying to help the whole city look nicer and is the best at choosing a way to communicate this. While it would likely have been much more effective if he had simply asked, instead of threatened you, it might be nice if you at least discussed it with him calmly. Even explaining to him that you will move your house to an acceptable location, and that his tone was not helpful in your deciding to be at least open to discussing the matter.

Most people do want to live in a semi-organized city, and mayors can only do that with the help of the city's resident. Try and talk to him and explain that you want to at least be mildly compensated in exchange for what you deem to be an ideal location. But, cities are a experiment in community building and can only succeed if all parties involved are willing to work together.

At least think on it.

Yup, i also think that nothing can/will be done.

But from a politician point of view (actually carrying the "urban planner" title ingame), it is difficult enough to to make a nicely layed out city, with recognizable streets, squares, etcas it is at the moment. and nothing is more frustrating than a house that is a 1 grid out of place after you build a furtherly good looking neighbourhood.

I know what you mean !!

I had to ask several people last night to move houses - all of them accepted ( not necesarily happily tho !!)

In the end, we had a team of people carrying posessions and backpacks round the town whilst the houses were redeeded and replaced. I think however, if I try and move any of them again, the goodwill will evaporate quickly !!! so I better get it right first time

lol

Some proper planning tools wouldn't go amiss tho - it's hard to line things up across a 200 x 200 m town square !!

I'm thinking of starting to work on an other way. I just ask the want-to-be-citizen deed for the house and place it myself where i want it. After it is in place i invite him in and then select him and use /transferStructure

This way you are sure the house stands where it has to be (or where you want to have it). Mabye a simple trick to work around this problems.

thanks for the responses guys i was in a hurry last night so here's the whole story. i had popped a large tatt house in front of city hall for 2 reasons. 1 to see the inside (never have before) and 2 as kind of a practical joke to everyone in town. the mayor went off on me about it. i dont mean "move your house" i mean "if you dont move that sh$$ i am going to ban and report you for harrasment! move it NOW!" well, after being spoke to like that without even a question about WHY i placed it. i left it there. he then proceded to remove me from the militia. the funny thing is, i was the original mayor of this city, and it was I that endorsed him as mayor 3 months ago. were it not for me he would not even be the mayor. hows that for graditude? if you are ever on Dantooine, stop by Sanctuary and check it out. its a bit comical. i understand the point of having an organized city...but to just flame one of your citizens without even asking WHY he did something is just wrong. so therefore my large tatt house will stay where it is until i get an apology and put back on the militia...that i started.

the simple fact of the matter is that once it went up it would have been so easy to just say "hey what ya doing? mind taking that down?" or a "haha very funny when you are done laughing dont forget to take it down" but to blow up at someone without even knowing their motives is the problem here. my house will be taken down eventually, after some things change in town.

Hmm... Seems to me, you did itas a practical joke. Your joke was not funny, so be a man and accept that. Redeed the structure and play nice nice. Grant it, you could have been asked in a nicer way, but because you weren't is no reason to make this into something bigger then the original practical joke you meant it to be.

Games are suppose to be fun...Stop making unnecessary drama. Redeed the house and go have fun.

The fact that you used to be mayorone would think you would understand that what you did is not all that funny, and that you would not like that done if you were mayor still...

Hehe now we now the whole story (or so i presume) the joke wasn't very good. But I have to admit I would react the same if the mayor itselfs start out with "hey you *self-edited* redeed that piece of sh**"" But why should he ask for the reason you put it there? I think this is just the problem of manners nothing more. If the mayor (a politician) don't have manners and can't win an argue or motivate his actions or giving reasons and be polite, he choose the wrong profession for sure. Imo the politician is al about socializing, same as entertainer and perhaps a little for the medic as well. But this is part of roleplay and can't be forced upon the players (what i sometimes find a pity).

I have placed ALL but 2 or 3 of the 60 structures in my town. ( I let the large house residents drop their own as I usually don't have 6 free lots)

I have a plan and I need to stick to it.

Some people can't even get the hang of rotating a house, let alone alignment etc.

Again, we have very few skills in the tree itself, at least let us come up with how we want the city arranged.

I get more compliments on my cities layout...I can't risk people messing it up.

Sounds a little meglomeniacal, but hey, it's my job and my skill points, and you elected me!
