Greetings,
I currently live in a community of about 15 unguilded players. We have had trouble in the past of people moving in nearby and harassing people. Luckily these people have moved on. However we have been discussing the idea of forming a city to keep these kind of people from moving in too close. Is it worth the time and trouble of declaring a city for peace and quiet?
My main concern about forming a city is funding it. No one likes the idea of taxes on property, sales, or income. Are there other ways to fund a city? All we're looking at is a city hall (outpost), bank and maybe a missions terminal, so I think that's about 38K a week in maintence (if I read the FAQ right). I would like to get some ideas and opinions on this issue.
Thank You,
- Travin

Honestly, with your low population, it's not worth it. It's very expensive to keep up a city. There's no real benefit for you or your citizens aside from terminals and trainers. Most of that they can get elsewhere and your money is better spent elsewhere than on keeping up the city. Unless you open it up to more citizens, your in for a world of hurt or bleeding cash. If you plan to keep it, I hope your rich.

Couple of options...
1. Join a city. A lot of cities would love to have people join and see if you like it or not.
2. Form your own outpost and do "city fund run" once a week. You have a mission terminal. So you can run mission once a week to get that money. Probably with a TKA/DOC buffed up can earn around 200k+ an hour from mission terminals (26k missions) that is 8 missions.. or 4 trips (2 mission each) not a problem hehe.. or get 4 of your friends join up each take 2 mission.. everyone run a single trip.. all cash deposit into the treasury once a week (would be a city event pretty much)
3. Stick a garage (need level 2) in a nice remote place that you choose.. you can earn some extra "random" income from people repair in those remote places... hehe

I like the idea of a City Fund run. We go hunting together alot anyway, and this could completly fund the city. The 2 people I group with alot gives our group a Master Doctor / Pistoleer (Me), Master Swordsman, and a Master CH / Master Riflewoman. My brother will also be joining the game soon, and probably head for Commando or Bounty Hunter.
According to the FAQ,a City Hall (Outpost)+ Bank + Mission Terminal would be about 38K a week. As a Master Doctor I can get that in 30 minutes of buffing in the right place at the right time. So I guess funding the city isn't as bad as some people think. I'm also starting an alternate character to be an Architect / Fencer.
But I have a couple more questions that I couldn't find in the FAQ. What isthe foot print of a Naboo City Hall (5x5, 6x6, etc...)? What is the radius of an Outpost (I think it's 150M, but I'd like to comfirm this)? If we don't want our city to become a village, assuming we get more people, do we have to grow?

The city fund run is great..... the thing is that a lot of people in the city does not want to pay for anything but want all the benefits
luckily a lot of our citizens in our city Spired Rock join in and donate.... it is not too bad really... as a TKA/doc I can raise like 200k-300k easily for our maint.. which is 395k
