Thread: Question about Research Centers

If I don't have a house in a research center, can I go into a house in the city and use their crafting station to make items and still get the research city bonuses? Or do only citizens get the benefits?


I went into one house and kept getting the message "You do not have access to the hopper" or something like that.

Just a heads up this si why ic hanged my city from a research center to a Inproved Job market.


When they rolled out publish 6 i decided why not test some of the crafting issues etc and research center stuff. My toon on another server is a Master Doc. So i took my faithful sidekick a r3 with me witha built in crafting station and i went to my friends place in the city he lives i that is a research center. He has a crafting station rated 41.0 I was using that to craft with with my crafting tool rated 14.98.


After about 20 minutes and 3 consecutive critical failures followed by 5 more with in that amount of time i decided to switch to my droid. the response was actually better with my droid then with the crafting station.


I tried this again the following day etc and found the same problem. So when i logged into my Toon on bria i had a few people help do the same thing and the results we came up with made no sense. basically the research center helped to no end with regards to critical failure rates either in or outside of the city. And i had better results from people using droids in and outside the city then with static crafting stations.


Is it worth the 80k/week? not at all IMO. i have yet to see marginal benefit from it.
