Thread: City Wishlist
1. grief controll for squatters - as a city expands existing structures in the newly expanded zone must be forced to redeed within 4 days or house dissapears, andresidents dont automatically become voting members.
2. small- medium gardens should beat the second tier
3. street structures - these tilesshould come complete withedging and street lights
4 Robes of office - elected mayor should have an official mayoral robe and a huge golden chain of office maybe even a seal/staff and very large wall ornament that can be hung in the mayors office with the cities name
I like serveral ideas here including
1 Better report on where our money is coming from.. better tax report
2 Different levels of milita, I don't need every member of the malitia able to grant zonning rights.
3 Streets - Hey the poo dunk town I grew up in had streets so why can't there be in the citys?
4 Why is it we have to pay for all the extras like clonning and starport but don't recieve a dime unless we tax them? I know its to help attract people to your city but come on its a facility in your city why doesn't it recieve part of the profits from such.
5 Deffently some sort of payout when people use your mission terminals especialy if it adds 20% bonus
6 Post office- this has to be one of the best ideas here, maybe just add it as a terminal in the city but the whole idea is great.

A newbuilding added, a stable has to be placed by either a master CH or a master BE. These buildings will take care of your little critter while you are in town, for a fee they will take care of the crit which will help it heal while under the care of a well trained staff.

- Separate property tax for houses, factories and harvesters. (you could use this, along with an un-capped harvester tax to be able to selectively force them out of the city... just set it to 5000% =P )
- Ability to /taxexempt selected individual structures. Our city has one or two pre-existing residents that aren't too happy about a tax. This would allow us to keep them happy.
My biggest wish right now, and this is something that I feel should be done immediatly to the game to stop so many potential problems and that would be simply giving the mayor the ability to see the deed placement overlay without having to have a harvester or building deed on hand to view it. And to give said mayor the ability to see the borders of thier city and to give players with the zoning rights the ability to see the borders as well

Ability to give certain people tax breaks or impose 'special' taxes on certain people.(im sure thishas been said)
Call in factional state of emergency. Perhaps starts a npc patrol or just makes your city flash on the map letting know its in trouble.
How bout some kinda trade route? Like 2 cities can form a trade route that makes thier bazzars united. So between those cities you would not have to travel to pick up the item. It would be a combined trade alliance between mayors. Would kinda go with trade federation-like thinking ect. United Cities.

Here's my suggestions:
1) Allow mayors with a Militia tier III or IV skill to delegate (or share) the responsibility of the militia to another non-politician player called a 'Sheriff'. The Sheriff would be chosen by the mayor and would have the ability to recruit and remove citizens to and from the militia. The Sheriff may also be given a +defense bonus if he is within the city (similar to the Stronghold specialization, but only applicable to the Sheriff).
2) Give mayors the capability of taxing shuttle tickets GOING TO the city as well as leaving the city. Allow the mayor to set the tax rates for incoming & outgoing tickets separately.
3) *** This is a good one: Give master Politicians a special City Specialization with some nice bonuses (something like Industrial Society + Entertainment together..or something else very nice, but not a +defense bonus) and then limit the number of cities that may have this City spec to one per planet. The name should reflect the 'elite' status of the city..and the Spec should be rather expensive. Rank V city required, of course.
Why is this so cool? This will promote city wars. Sort of like a King of the Hill game where the city with the title will have to defend the title from all of the other cities who want it. The city with the special City spec, however, should not get a +defense bonus, because this will make it exceedingly hard for other cities (and their armies) to successfully wage war against the current reigning city "King". The City spec bonuses should be nice enough to make it worthwhile to get it, though.

A city channel that is persistant! Any channel I create vanishes when it is empty (a silly thing if you ask me) Just make a spatial that is only available to those standing in the city limits. Or make it a guild like channel and only allow declared citizens to talk in it... and dont tell me form a guild, I dont want a guild, I want to be able to communicate with multriple people in my town without having to use the current chat conventions. ie, ctrl-r or /rt or group or temp. planet channels
