OMG!

Putting "Citizens" in the To: field of an in-game email WORKS?

When did they add this? I have needed this BADLY.... for AGES.

Can anyone confirm that this works without manually trying to maintain an accurate buddy-list Group called "Citizens"?

I tried that long ago, twice, but each time my buddy list groups were wiped in a client crash. Plus trying to maintain such a buddy list group every day can get to be a full-time job.

I'm sorry to report that it does not, in fact, work. I tried mailing Citizens and it seemed to work, but by the fourth person I asked for receipt confirmation, I'd already found someone ON the Citizen Report, but who did not receive the mail.

This is as disappointing as prior attempts to manually update and use buddy list groups to track all citizens in a major commercial metropolis from day to day. The recipient field of the email truncates the list when you try to select a large group of buddy list recipients, so there's no telling who got the mail and who didn't. Trying to do it manually 10-12 people at a time is not an option. Even sorting a large friend list or mailbox can hang the client.

We need civic mass mail that actually works.

And a previous poster was absolutely right about the 3-weeks-inactive rule. It threatens us without offering any means to know if our citizens are inactive or not, and for how long. This is a whammy.

It does work, I use it every week. It is plural ... citizens

I'm going to copy the initial post in this thread over to the other top-five sticky thread and unstickying this one to make more room here at the top of the forum.
