Thread: The New Correspondent (voting and proposals)

I would suggest the developers pay no attention to this thread at all now.

What matters is who from the politician FORUM votes for which politician to get the job. It is SILLY for people to be getting their citizens to come here and say I vote for such and such. If you people putting your name up for the job continue with this then I will be happy to ask the 100 people from my city to come vote for me even though I dont even want the job.

What your citizens think of you is IRELAVANT. Most cities are PA based and normaly the city mayor is also the pa leader which would make it even more pointless to count their vote as being anything other than a support for their leader.

As I have said all that counts is the vote of a POLITICIAN for one of the candidates. The rest should be ignored completely. That fact that you can run a city is great but hey we all do that. To be a good correspondant you have to be able to communicate with the devs and other politicians in a way that GETS THINGS DONE.

Having said that as I have said in my first post of this thread the developers are DOING ZERO for us over the next few months either way. You can see how much they care about what we need by their massive presence on this thread and board so far.

Hello echo

echo

Any devs around that care wether we have a correspondant or not?

Any devs around willing to say they will get something done on ANY of our issues in the next month?

Any devs around?

Hello

echo echo echo.

Ok you guys can go back to getting citizens voteing for you now. Very Unimpressed.

Grrrr sorry might have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed today

*waves* Hello people we all count on so much!

I wanted to come by and see if you were talking about Baj's successor... I'm glad to see that you are. Since you are also having people come in to vote, I'd like to put my support behind Pappi as well.

She is extremely forum savvy. She always listens to a poster's concern and comes back with either something encouraging or helpful. She contributes to and starts insightful forum topics. As far as in game knowledge goes, she ishard to beat. She has truly been tested by a whole city full of citizens that each count on her to keep them up and running in a very extreme setting. On live, it is perhaps Entertainers and Crafters that count on a good Mayor the most and I know she understands those needs.

She is a proven bug tester and already has a few useful blue and red named friends. (connections are never a bad thing for Politicians you know )

This is a very important Correspondent position to fill that has the ability to have widespread game impact. I know who ever is chosen will do an excellent job, but if you want a well rounded candidate that can jump right into the Corr game, Pappi is your girl!

This Endorsement has been paid for by the Dancer Forum's Society of Concerned Citizens for Mayor Pappi. All recognition has been made that these endorsements may or may not effect the final outcome of the voting process. Acknowledgement must be paid to PMs and Emails that will not be seen in this thread.

I happen to agree with the sentiment that these boards are underutilized. However, when Politician first came out, the boards were very active. Ideas, suggestions, bug lists, etc.

Exactly what, if anything has been done to/for the politician profession?

ZERO. NILCH. NADA.

That is why these boards are a ghost town...

Folks get discouraged and apathatic when months and months pass and not even ONE issue has been addressed, not ONE.

While I can appreciate the enthusiasm the self-declared candidates are expressing, and their supporters flocking here to endorse them, I fail to see the relavance of this thread, when TH has not EVEN dropped a line here to REQUEST our feedback as to our choice for the next correspondence.

I'ld like to remind all of you that Baj was selected without any consultation from this forum.

I'ld bet the next will be selected in the same manner.

There were a ton of other professions at the time who were screaming that they were not getting any attention and they were being told to wiat until after vechicles mounts and player cities. However most of the troubled professions got the attention they needed and now we can say "Hey remember us over here"

Hopefuly this will change with new stuff comming down the pipe.

We did get our BE trainer, but i agree that more does need to be done. I'm sure we are all aware what those are with out me getting into a long list.

Thank You much

I told a few of my residents that wanted to replay not to, becasue i higly doubt that any form of voting like this would of be taken seriously. However I did use this thread to start up some good conversation. If anything canidates didsurface and it can assist Thunderheart in making his decision.

I would like to point out that small issues are getting addressed for politicians n each publish, even if it is just the addition of a BE trainer it is impossible to say we aren't getting anything, just not as much as we'd like or necessarily on the issues we want addressed.

With the upcoming GCW publish in the works I think we will be getting significantly more attention. Furthermore, I think it is important that we realize we do get some attention with each publish and that we simply push really hard to determine which requests are reasonable, and which are not, and then make selections as best we can for that list... effectively guiding the Dev's along a longer, slower path to helping us enjoy our profession more completely...

I mean really we must be some of the most hopeful and optimisticpeople in the game, as it is us that take the initiative and try toform communities where before there was nothing... We just need more optimism on this board and we'll be just fine.

The problem is as was stated inan above post that all the professions need a lot of help. I have 3 accounts. They cover.

Master Politician - Needs help

Master Architect - Help ( gave us lights woot! they should have been there at launch )

Master CH - Nerfed to oblivion

Master Smuggler - Needs so much help its being redone

Master Doc - Only doesnt need help because of Buffs.

I came in to politician with a fairly massive Sim City background. I was thinking that eventually I would get enough people paying enough taxes and getting cash from utilities to build my city with real citizens. I was thinking if the citizens didnt like the layout I could pick up all the houses and move them. I was thinking... well lets just say I should have never started thinking.

What I want is the cost of everything in cities cut in half and then I want a percentage of the cash that goes into everything including trainers and mission terminals. If its a faction terminal I want cash and faction. I want to keep gaining more and more cash so I can afford ( at some point ) to have every available garden in the city as well as a light out the front of every house.

I DONT CARE ABOUT THE DATABASE. I pay my cash each month for the database already.

if the devs WANT GREAT CITIES in this game they have to give politician the ability to GRIEF players. Thats how you get great cities. Because as soon as citizens get griefed they leave that city and it folds giving other cities who have better political leaders the oppertunity to grab those citizens. I would put TAXES on a one week or even one MONTH delay. So as the Mayor I can charge 1 million credits in tax per week if I want to. However the citizens will get the mail saying that will come into effect in a week or a month giving them the chance to get out.

It would even be great if I could set a quater of the city as the rich area and fill that with gardens and large houses but charge 50k a week in tax for that area yet have another quater as the poor or storage house area and charge no tax there. Thats part of city planning the way I wanted and hoped it would be. But alas... like I said I realy shouldnt think about how great things could or should I say could have been.

Well I'll toss my hat in the ring if anyone is interested..

Been running one of the first cities on Flurry (New Freeport) since 2hrs after cities were patched in. ;-)

One advantage I might have over others is 20 years of programming anddevelopmentexperience. And I've been in the game since July 2nd last year. I currently run a large guild to top it off and have automated a ton of stuff to do with cities, vendor and guild management.

I can dedicate time to the job if I get support but I do have to warn you I'm big on delegate and really big on don'tcomplain if you aren't going to make a proposal on how to fix what you are complaining about. :-)
