Question then, why does everyone say it will overload the database. People are free to put houses wherever, so even if they weren't in a city they could pile a whole bunch together and "overload the server". All it does is allow more people to have the benefits of city structures in a closer area.. Which should be determined by Politician rank only, and not the city size, which would solve all of this..

why not bump it people have paid good money to play this game and are being punished for not playing fromrelease or not deciding straight away that they want to take uppolitician , my city is about to go to rank 3 then my next aim obviously is to get to rank 4 my city is built purely on guild members there are no ghost houses in it unlike an increasing percentage of the cities on my server and at this time it looks like the planet it is on may just cap b4we get rank 4 , personally i find this disgusting as all the hard work we have put in will have been for nothing as a shuttleport is key to getting ppl into your city for events , trade and convenience , so this thread should be bumped as it keeps the issue raised in the community and hopefully something can be resolvedeven if they just do a charachter purge in the immediate future im sure it would help greatly.

if u dont work with the community to create a better game u lose the community , if u lose the community u lose the game .

we are here since the day of the 2nd generation city and we never got even the chance to advance to level 4. Even when an old city fell we (all lvl 3 cities here) got screwed cause of a bug in the cap.

And stop with the excuse of the bad impact on the database , cause cities reduce the objects in a region and don t increase them!

And we are not talking about more cities, we just want the right to reach the level accoring to our citizen count!

so we will bump such threads till the Dev finally take care about teh cities like they promised again and again.

and when you want to silence us, you re doing the wrong job as politician correspondent

the devs don't even look here, so bumping this thread is pointless, Pappi knows the issues this community has with the game, and has relayed our wants to the devs. that isa corespondentsjob, to watch what we talk about simplify it and then tell the devs the important stuff. do you honestly think the devs have time to read every single forum for each profession? I can barely keep up with this one. so again bumping is not gonna help anything, and this is a dead horse, so quit beating it

Well i'm going to say one thing that isn't quite beating the dead horse. I am the mayor of a level 2 city called Drifter's Basin, Tatooine, Corb.We have a city called "SWG is going to be empty soon" on tatooine, corbantis server. It has 39 citizens and only 30 structures. Can someone please tell me how that is possible? If the devs don't want to change the city level cap then ok, but can't they at least clean out the citizenship registries for the different cities? I mean why do we have citizens getting mail from two different city lists?? I myself was also a citizen of both cities when i changed residence without officially revoking my citizenship. This allows dead cities to still be higher level than they should be. I think at least make it one person = one city registry listing we would alleviate a lot of problems. My old city was trying to change mayors and i emailed everyone on the citizenship list. I had 6-7 people tell me they were members of other cities, and one was a new mayor on another planet!

I sent this to a CSR since it seems blatantly bugged. I explained the situation clearly and was told the name of 'my city' would be changed and i was warned of probation and told that i would just have to wait until the city was bumped up on its own. (HELLO it wasn't my city or i wouldn't have been asking).Anyway..... I was totally blown off. The CSR didn't even really read it.

Any response / info would be appreciated.

there isn't much I can do about the CSR issue, but citizenship is strangely bugged please continue to /bug these, that should raise the priority of the bug.

we also have some citizens who left months ago

but they are still registered and there s no way for us to get rid of them

i asked a csr long ago but he had no idea what i was talking about

just saying citizens have to be declared in a city to be citizens

after telling him that those people don t have even a house here there was silence

and the ticket has been closed

This bug also applies to Mayors

I dropped a city hall some weks ago with Ricarda, one of my alts. At that time she was registered citizen of Farpoint and became Mayor of Farpoint Valley. Still, even after the city grew up to level 3, she is on the residents list of Farpoint and even receives the citizen mails sent by my main char

Thanks forresponding tomy post pappi. Your work is appreciated. I just wish they would realize how much solving the dual citizenship problem could help player cities. If the bigger cities would scale back properly when they lost citizens, thriving cities could go forward and not so many people would be 'capped' out of their rightful levels as active, growing cities. If they want to keep the city cap for whatever reason... fine... Even as an IT person i dont pretend to understand their database system or know why they havelevel capsin there.BUT when the mechanism is broken to scale cities back properly (not count dual citizens, deleted chars, etc.), it defeats the whole pupose either way. More than one group has left the game over this frustration. I know other professions need attention also, but the vast majority of players in this gamelive or have lived in a player city regardless of profession. It affects almost all of us. That's why i believe this and other city bugs deserve aLOT of attention.
