Many good ideas...

For the sake of helping our correspondent "talley" things...Here are my rankings (assuming the givens, like theatres, cantinas, etc.)

1. Functional aesthetics: signs, walls, paved tiles, banners, public crafting units, as equally important as bridges, parks, monuments, etc.

2. Multi-dwelling structures: Vendor/workshop mall, apartments, hotels, rentable storage rooms, etc.

3. Modular structures could be an incredibly rich way to build in uniqueness. Attaching aforementioned options to paint and decorate make this pretty intriguing.

4. City Defense Structures: Militia/Police HQ, turrets, covert scanners, guard towers, etc. And barracks for factionally alligned cities with a faction base.

5. Could a library be formed with links to various things like the Ctrl H feature, but expanded to possibly include a wider range of data on SWG items? (i.e. creature data, profession data, weapons, maybe SWU history, etc.) This has lots of possibilities.

1. Configurable buildings with modules that can be added or removed to personalize their appearance. If I want a bigger house, I should be able to just add onto it if there is a room. This includes digging a basement or adding a second or even third floor. Adding thsi feature might give architects something to do.

2. Bridges - the ability to place these should be even beyond the city limits, as a city may want to cater to those traveling to it, providing ease of travel.

3. Roads - see #2.

4. Signs. Please add my name to whatever petition is being made to get us these things. It won't be very city-like without them.

5. The ability for master image designers to "paint" houses. Hell, give them the ability to do this to furniture and signs too. People are annoyed that their furniture isn't customizable more, and image designers don't provide a valuable enough service. Kill two birds with one stone.

6. ACTUAL Corellian buildings, not these generics that look slightly different. The current selection of Corellian buildings is a total disappointment, and suspiciously looks like some SOE artist ran out of time before the game came out. Fix this please, and while you're at it give us some of the perks that the Tat and Naboo houses have like balconies, basements, and a house that only takes 1 lot. Why someone at SOE thinks that this is fair that we don't have these things is beyond me.

7. Underground buildings and tunnels. A PA with enough money and time should be able to build an underground complex with a secret entrance, or a tunnel leading from their location to an enemy city some distance away to mount surprise attacks. Obviously this would be extremely costly, but so what? Maybe a master ranger could be emplyed to disguise the entrance once it is made. Doing so would take some time, and during this period after it is build but before it is disguised it would be open to discovery by passersby, so timing would be important.

8. The SWG dev team should strive to introduce things that make player cities resemble the NPC cities more. Among these are:
a. Pavement. Especially on Corellia, the player cities will look downright ridiculous with no pavement.
b. Multiperson dwellings. There are plenty of buildings in the NPC cities that have no dwelling or player city equivalent. Since the game engine has to load these models anyway, convert them into multiperson dwellings, sort of like condominiums or apartment buildings. Possibly allow a merchant of sufficent level to own and place these structures and charge rent for the units within, or simply allow anyone to place them and grant permission to others to use the units. Such buildings would not be allowed to be destroyed without the consent of the occupants, although the maintenance could run out and they could be destroyed that way. Landlords would also not have admin rights to the units.
c. Walls. Yes, we've all heard the but-we-can't-allow-you-to-wall-in-your-enemies rule. Fix the code so players can't do this and add in walls already please.

1. Militia HQ, make it like a faction base where you can donate defensive structures to it.

2. Defensive structures that don't have huge footprints. Some small city turrets/guardshacks.

3. Paving panels so you can have definitive paths and not have to worry about small harvs popping up.

4. Stable, with mounts some kind of CH strucuture where they can store growing pets so they can run a business of selling mounts and not be limited by datapad restrictions.

Above all these things, signs are VERY important, it gives acknowledgement of city limits,
streets, warnings informing imperials to go back home, blah blah, its been said before.

Apartment buildings, noobs need a place to live ya know, not everyone has the lots needed
to place down the house they want soo, a landlord places his apartment, ranging from ghetto
so to speak, to expensive high class rich folk type place.

Colisseum would be the **edit**. BE can make the beast, you could gamble for the winner, giving
more income into the city, entrance fee, fighting fee, all could increase the revenue.
