Thread: Wooki Life Day Orbs

i wouldn't say that all cities are getting them. I read a dev post stating that cities that are registered on the map would be getting them. Meaning possibly that the person going around to each galaxy and city (that's just one person) and handing them out, only may know where cities are based upon what appears on the map. SO NEW CITIES SHOULD GET THEIR CITY REGISTERED ASAP.
Um, new cities can't register. Not for three weeks, if they're lucky enough to get under the level 3 cap. So these orbs are going to be pretty rare.
It feels a bit sad, to me anyway, that these gifts are going to turn into ultra-rares, sold for loads of credits. Rather than being valued as a gift. It's a nice idea, but in the small quantities, they're going to be sold for millions rather than kept, in a lot of cases. Just doesn't feel so much in the spirit of the season.
Yep, Scylla got theirs tonight, and Tombra got 0. Two towns I know did get them are registered, so from what I can tell the "on the map" thing is accurate. That's just sad in ways I can't describe.

I am at work so I don't know if our city has them. So far, we have not received them. We are on the Kettemoor server.
I know of 5 wookiees in my city. Those will be the FIRST to get them from Temenos Island. Afterall, it's for Wookiee Life Day.
That would leave us with 15, if the stories of receiving 20 are correct. For those, I would send out a city-wide email and ask each citizen to send back the names of 5 people they think should receiveone. Anyone not replying to the email will be automatically removed from the running for receiving one, since we'd want them to go to active members of our community. They are gifts afterall, might as well reward those who are active in our community.
The 15 most nominated persons will then each receive an orb.
This seems to me the fairest way to divide up a limited number of items among 100+ citizens.

That didn't sound right either. Oh well. Viva la Orbs!
Lol! Still spelled wrong Titus: Its wookiee (two e's). Not that many people actually spell it right!
Titus, *tries to hold her tongue* let me just say this. You obviously have NO clue what the devs plans were for cities. Go back through Holo's posts and chats, and see if you're more on track than anyone else in his definitions.

Great post, Titus!
And yes, we got them and they look fantastic!

Mine were in a large ring around the main chamber too.
To be honest with all the hubub around everyone in my city trying to get vehicles I didn't notice them for about two hours until I finally went in the city hall. My first response was, "Why did they add lights around my fountain?", but after I looked at them I was emensley pleased and sent /tells to a few people to come see the gifts the Devs had given us.
To those disappointed at not getting them because their cityis not on the map I can only say that I am sorry you didn't get any, but I think giving them to cities registered onthe map has a purpose.
The true spirit behind creation ofPlayer-Cities is so Players can interact with others that they might not have known otherwise in-game. /Citywarn and /Cityban were created as a tool to discourage griefing and not as a griefing-tool themselves. This should be a lesson to all the Player-Cities that have decided to hide themselves and cloister themselves off in an effort to create hidden pocket-kingdoms with mini-dictatators. If you stick withthe Dev'sintended vision of an open community you will be rewarded. If you continue to choose to make your own private settlements you will not receive rewards like these. This could be one of many things you are rewarded in the future and this is your opportunity to re-think your stance and live up to the to the ideas of what a Player-City can be.
Still waiting for ours to show up. Hope they don't forget about this dusty, stormy rock called Lok.
Also how do you drop all the gui for an uncluttered screenshot?
