Give malitia /cityban and /unban
Give urban planners /grantzoning rights.
This is the number one reason that I have o few on the malitia.
Also being able to place a faction recruiter in the city. Hey if the mayor decided that the city is Imperial or Rebel the citizans have the right to replace him.
Also create a tier 6 city. And create a JTL term..

My city is on Rori. Lots of people rag on Rori, but its a great place to live especially in the post-cu world. Hunting before on Rori was a joke, but with creature levels its now possible.
My only beef is that NPC city mission terms give level appropriate missions, but my player city (Lvl3) only goes to level 55. The majority of my citizens have no reason to hunt in our city.
As a jedi padawan, I love the seclusion of hunting on rori where i don't have to worry about lots of traffic and not having to deal with other high level spawns.
I like the ideas of factionalilizing the cities. A city needs more content for the price we pay to run them.
I think in the world of politician though, the mission terminal fix is a must have. I know some player cities aren't affected by it, and i'm not really sure why ours is(and every other city on rori).
If it's cause rori is starter planet, then why aren't NPC cities on Rori impacted?
I am guess there is some other factor involved here other than just the fact that your city is on Rori. I am the mayor of a city also on Rori (Eclipse Galaxy). I can confirm first-hand that mission terminals do give out higer level missions. Infact, I grouped with a level 77 citizen lastnight and was able to get level 79 missions. Infact, the lowest level mission I saw posted was level 76.

Those are some pretty good suggestions, Khoeven, for things that could be put into factional cities. They are *great* ideas for the eventual "strongholds" that we will hopefully see.
Directed to everyone: How does a city become factional, though? If it's left solely up to the mayor, there are huge possibilities for abuse. Is it fair to say to a non-combatant citizen, "If you don't like it, move"? Is there a fair and effective way of determining a city's faction without isolating that city? There is also the issue of shifting planetary control in NPC cities to consider.
Would workingthose ideas into a new GCW faction perk--like an attackablestronghold--that could be placed in a Player City be an acceptable option to "City Name - Imperial" or "City Name - Rebel"? Or do we really want to push for the ability to add that distinction, even if there are faction bases and such in the city limits that add a factional presence?
I understand Khoeven. Makes sense. I always have the habit of looking at it from a "story" perspective I guess. Even from that point of view, if a planet is controlled by rebels, the Empire would up it's crack-down on that planet. From a game-programming and MMORPG perspective, I see the challenges. Not easy. I gues the players would have to intervene to change the tide on that planet.

Amsaran, I think that perhaps you concern for the need of rebels to be secretive is a bit more than what is functional, needed, or even being implemented in the game right now. Currently if a planet is controlled by the rebellion in the GCW score system, there are rebel guards and banners all over the NPC cities. Surely the Empire is aware of these, yet they are there until players affect the game to change it. On any planet, be it rebel or imperial controlled, you can place rebel bases. Again, the Empire must surely be aware of these, in particular if the base is on a planet under imperial control; yet still only players have the ability to affect them. I believe a factionally declared player city would be no different than either of these in that regard.
Here's a thought, if you declare your city factionally it causes there to be 'crackdown' live events occuring randomly. I don't mean CSR controlled Pex & Co live events since that'd be idiotically difficult to manage across all galaxies, but rather imperial crackdown style raids.
If you are a rebel city you'll have probe droids spawning every-so-often in random places scanning passers by to bring in a lambda shuttle if you fail until it is destroyed easily.
Imperialcities will have an increased spawn of rebel camps close by it's border and randomly have a 'raid' where a camp will spawn somewhere within the city. Since this isn't as random as the sweep checks for rebels this will de-spawn after a set time. Just something to give your city an atmosphere and a place where hanging out doesn't mean dance/craft macro's or preparing to go somewhere else.
I would like to see mayors have the ability to condem structures -- those that are already condemed by the system even. We had a theater in my former city that took up prime real estate. It was owned by a player that went inactive with no notice. It sat and sat and is finally condemed. Will the server cleanup help this? We can hope they will do it on an ongoing basis and not just this once.
Along those lines, mayors need teh ability to evict -- giving the owner a set number of days to move and when that time period is over - if they haven't moved - rolling all their stuff up and sticking it in the bank (like they were talking about doing with condemed houses). If you have a rebel city and some of your citizens decide to switch factions - it would be nice to get them out of town. They now have free rights to drive everyone crazy without the threat of cityban. I understand there is the possibility for abuse but that possibility exists everywhere in this game.
The bottom line is that it would be nice if Mayors had more control over their city instead of just being the person who can drop the stuff to make it look pretty.
