Thread: Politicians on BH terminal?
Odd my post is gone however still shown as I had posted in this thread...I'll just repost it I guess.
Why do you all believe that we would have no recourse but to fight if this had happened? That we would all immediately be up for attack by BH's simply for existing? It doesn't work that way for jedi and it would not for us. Only allow mayors to be put on the terms and only allow mayors to set the bounty on each other, with a realistic credit cap of course and a timer gap. Allow groupmates and militia (in or out of town) to attack the BH with you too to have a security escort.
This would add a huge layer to politics where you have to get treaties and alliances formed if you fear the assassin's blade. We are, afterall, accountants, warmasters, statesmen, and urban planners. All but the last one there can be used to keep your character safe. Bribe the hunter, turn the tables on your rival mayor and put a better bounty on his head, credits can hold some sway in this and your accounting tricks will win the day. Keep a consistent army of your militia and friends grouped with/around you in the event of a BH attack so that you have security to protect you. Stay in the black X-35 while your escort takes care of the fighting. Get an armistice signed with your enemy mayors and ally mayors to prevent this from hitting you hard and politik your way into the safe zone with threats of retribution and or help. Use proxy mayors of smaller lesser known towns to setup the strike so you aren't seen as orchestrating it etc.

Same with me...It shows I posted, but I dont see my post that I made. It was a simple statement on topic, and not a flame. I cant imagine a mod having any reason to kill it. /shrug

The only way that a bounty for a Poli would work is if the Poli wanted to be on a terminal in the first place. This could actually be implemented. Create a Mission/Quest terminal for Poli's where as they can choose to do illegal things. Maybe the quest could be 15 parts long and each step during the process has the Poli go and meet some NPC and takes a bribe or attends an illegal meeting etc... Once the Poli starts the quest they then show up on a terminal. Perhaps after completing the 5th leg of the quest it will take them off the terminal so as to take a breather. Once the 6th leg is completed then back on the terminal.
The reward for completing the whole thing should be very cool. Maybe a special Decoration for the City with their Name on it.

My 2 creds:
1) I hate the precedent this idea suggests. Being Jedi, I've seen what whiners PvP'ers (both Jedi and BH in my experience) tend to be when they post on the forums. This has led to an intensive focus on these two groups, leading to other professions being left out in the cold. Very selfish, in my mind at least.
Now, with that said, and ASSUMING such a plan could be implimented WITHOUT LOSS to time spent fixing current issues with the other professions, I think the following might be a viable solution:
2) Allow mayors to declare their city as a specified faction. Then, mayors could then place a bounty on opposing-faction mayors. THEN, allow the defending mayor to "deputize" same-faction players to help defend the mayor/city by making the raiding players con red and allow them to fight it out in the streets.
I think CLEARLY #2 won't happen. The amount of time that it would take to plan out such a lengthy idea, though entertaining to some, would rule out the possibility of seeing this come to fruition.
Once again, just my 2 creds

That's how it would be too.
