You need to be a Master Musician/Dancer/Chef to place it. The city has to be Rank 2. Those are the only reqs we know of.

Because a politician operates a city, and you have to place a cantina/hospital/theater in a city.

what would be the best way to go up the politician skill tree?

It all depends on what you want your city to turn into.


If your a factioned city most mayors go up the martial tree. If your city is laid down and well organized you may want to run up the decoration branc so you can get access to gardesns and such. However to have access to bacic civic structures most start with Jobs1 so you can get mission terminals and either go up to martial 2 to get a cloning center or tourism 2 to get a shuttleport.

No one can answer that question except the people in your city. We have no idea how many people you have, what you want to do with your city or how the future looks. This isn't a grinding profession, so you can't get any skills to get exp faster.

The first request I got was a Shuttleport...of course...LOL


Second request was Cloning Center.../sigh


Third request was mission terminal...yay, I can do that!


Fourth was Exotic gardens!


lol they will get small ones and like it!


So, this being my 1st week as mayor and being only Novice, my first box will be to give them mission terminals.


BTW, since no one has run against me, and no one plans to. Do my citizens even need bother to vote?


But, what happens if they get in that bad non-voting pattern and 1 day a clown runs against me and votes for himself?

As long as they want you for mayor (more specifically, they want to reelect the incumbant), your citizens NEVER need to vote. Not the first week, not the second, not ever. All votes are yours auto-magically unless changed to your opponent (each week). You will get the same XP as if they went to the terminal and the election results will be the same.



Note the numerous threads about mayors trying to get out who have been unable to lose re-election even after pleading with their citizens to vote for someone else ...

That's a pretty standard start. Quick and recognizable pay-off for having a city. It'll keep people focused for the week so that you can hit Rank 2 next week for cantina and bank (assuming you get enough XP).



Oh, and they won't get even small gardens until you can work up the 85 vote-weeks necessary for Customization 3. Sorry.
