-- This week in Aurora --
General News:
Aurora is a great metropolis on Naboo. Though the planet is overrun with Imperially aligned players, Aurora remains a sanctuary for Rebel players. Recently Aurora rejoined the GCW with the placement of a forward outpost. This provided a much needed boost in the city's combat and GCW environments. Sadly, the very strong Imperial presence on Naboo guaranteed that the base was destroyed within 48 hours. It did bring some great fun though, and most people were glad to have had a chance to participate in its placement and the defense of it -- even though it was an unsucessful.
The 2nd All-Citizen survey is complete. The results are being tabulated and analyzed with a report due next week, now that the Mayor has a bit of time to worok on them.
City Mall and Merchants:
The new tax strucutre in Aurora has brought a zero sales tax to town. This mean lower prices on every item on the vendors in Aurora. Rebel Yell Combat Arms has finally returned from its hiatus and is rapidly stocking its weapons vendors.
The Aurora mall offers high quality products, at low prices and is only a 1 minute ride from Moenia, or a quick shuttle trip through the Aurora Shuttle port. The vendors are restocked every few days and the city is seeing a steady stream of customers to our citizen's vendors. With such great vendors asJor'ans Resources,Boceifus's weapons, Woseu's Armor, Cuk's Food, Ackac's Droids, Hadrian's Deeds and Furniture, Agoln's Meds, Yhaigs Clothing, and all the numerous miscellaneous vendors, Aurora is able to offer high quality goods and products at low prices. The mall is on the western edge of town and is currently undergoing some redecorating efforts as we refine our look and feel to better suit the shopping needs of our customers.
City Finances:
With the new tax structure in place the city is earning approximately 50,000 credits per day. That is insufficient and the mayor is going to support the city personally until he can get more donations. Aurora currently runs a 700k/week maintenance fee. This is reduced to 500k/week if the gardens are removed. With more sponsored gardens appearing in the city the finances are improving dramatically. At 50,000 credits per day the city only earns 350,000 credits. While that is a lot of money, it is still 150,000 less than our minimum maintenance cost.
City Governance:
The city council is due to meet this weekend to discuss the city's involvement in the GCW and our need to restrcuture some neighborhoods. New for Aurora is the announcement of a Deputy Mayor post, tasked with improving the city's regular communications to its citizens and the public. We hope to have the selection process completed by this weekend.
City Event Guide:
Finally, several guilds are continuing to run weekly hunts out of Aurora. BOTD and E-Den have standard hunting nights and all folks are welcome to join them. SPT and IF are very active in the GCW and PvP. Check out the discussion groups at www.swgbotd.com.
That is about all that is happening this weekin our great community.

Well, not much has happened in the Desert Flower Commune since I forgot that I'm the mayor (and it has been a long time since I've posted here).
Population fluxuates around 70 but I have been notified I should be losing 5 residents at the end of the summer and estimate another 3 to 4 whose houses will decay. Finally gotten responses for getting a Council set up and established. So far one application.
Discussion of taxes have been the main issue now and right now finding a good balance. Finally have a City Forum established for residents but right now I've been kicking everyone in the arse to get there and sign up (my foot is sore). Had an opponent in the election for two weeks but they became upset that they didn't win and haven't shown up in the game (oh well, no big loss). And right now, there are discussion about creating a weekly Commune hunt/raid.
composite boots are your friends

This week has seen some major changes in Triad, Corellia. After a long run as mayor, Nord has finally gotten his wish he has been voted out of office and replaced by me (official at update in 1hr 30min). I would like to thank Nord for all his hard work and sacrifice during his tenure as Mayor. I hope that I am able to fill his shoes and continue in a manner fitting the mayor of Triad.

Falkland Naboo Chimeara
We finally hit lvl 4. After18weeks (back since march) of getting the "City Expansion Capped" Message i finally got the positive message. I jumped of my chair, i am the most lucky Mayor out in this universe. Hope its not a bug *g*.
Yeah i will lock in now, and get me a shuttleport, check out the new city radius and so on. Yesterday i organized the weekly Cityevent (this time a Swoop-Race on the Corellia Track) and soi did not had time for that.
BtW that swoop-race was really fun and more thrilling than i thought it to be. I let the people get their "go" of the Coordinator and started the Race with a "Go" after everyone mounted his bike. So they always had the other people on sight, and as the Swoops are all equally fast, we had the whole race head on head figths. I waited at the starting line and checked who was back first second and third. They got 3,2 and 1 point. After 5 races, which seems to be a good number as the whole racing takes about 1 hour that way. The one with the most points was declared "Swoop-Master of Falkland". He got a lamp with that title in front of his house as special trophae. A good trick for the race is to have two people as commentator who make follow on some peoples. So they can tell allways what is happening out there on the track.
So far
