As already stated in the poll from Baj ... 2 accounts

Next to mastering Politician and spening 77 skillpoints on it (I intend to keep the skills) I also "have" to account for the lots for the city cantina and the city theater ... so my char is really crippeld (no income ... a lot of outcome).

To "play" the game (in a sense of doing some fighting or exploring in groups rather than manage a community without any fighting skills available ... which is also fun in its ways) I recently got a second account with which I'm hunting Holos right now and with which I would like to establish a fighter after opening my FSCS

Kheraba City - . - . - . - . - M a y o r - . - . - . - . - . - . - Etraes'Khar

bajeezus, I think it's important to note that in your survey, people with two accounts may still call their politician their main. I have two accounts now, got the second one for player city time. However, I went politician with my original, or main, character. I play them both, but consider my mayor my primary guy.

It's also important to note that the amount of time spent being the mayor does not necessarily directly relate to gameplay coming from skillpoint investment. It's like being a PA leader in many ways, in that the vast majority of time is spent doing things that don't use any in game skills at all, such as talking with players, organizing events, working out business deals etc.

I'd say that 90% of my game time is dedicated to being the mayor, but about 1% is dedicated to using and utilizing skills granted by the politician tree. The politician tree does not a mayor make, it's the player and his/her interaction with other players that makes the mayor, and it is THAT which creates gameplay. It is NOT the built in features or skilltree. For me, I look at the politician tree as nothing more than merely the necessary evil to be able to place city structures. It grants me exactly ZERO ability to do the things that are required of a mayor. It doesn't allow me to earn any income, it doesn't allow me to set up game-mechanics-driven trade agreements, it doesn't allow me any official positions or stances. It merely allows me to decorate the city. A city which I and my city council manage and grow through our own methods, not through any built-in methods.

Anyway, the point is, the survey you presented should in no way be viewed as indicating that the skill point investment is equalling game time. In point of fact, there are cities that are actually run by pa leaders and NOT by the actual mayor. Which only proves that the politician tree has nothing to do with the ability to run or grow a city, merely the ability to add structures and decorations to it (yes I know, setting taxes etc. but still all interactions a monkey could do and that require about ten seconds to actually accomplish.).

I also got 2 accounts. Although I cant call neither of them my main because both are. One is my mayor/crafter/merchant character and the other is my 100% combat character. The mayor was my first and I played him for 3 months before I needed a second account (no player cities available by then).

Now, the strange part is that my combat character is the money maker, he maintains himself (moneywise)and the crafter character by doing missions. So my combat char does missions for cash and buys the resources that my crafter/mayor needs to craft. I would not be able to run my city without a second account.

Account 1: This one (see sig)

Account 2: Merchant/Architect/Politician. Seems like a perfect Politician template to me - I can build the civic structures, and the merchant part gives me the Propagandist title that I love so much.

i'd like to echo what Neologist wrote.

I have two accounts. My politician is my primary account. I am mayor 100% of the time i am logged in with that character. I am mayor when i'm on another planet doing theme parks. i'm mayor when i'm out running missions to pay for my stuff and help with city funds. i am mayor when i'm wandering around looking at the cities others have made. i am available at all times to my citizens. The skills do nothing for this availability.

placing a structure or decoration is not a lasting "skill" like combats skills. it's more of a one shot deal. How many times can I really drop a bank or a clone center other than moving it (which is not likely to happen unless we change the whole layout of the city). once we have things down, they are down, usually, for good, including decorations.

once we master, how can we continue to exercise those skills? there's little use for those skills. how we interact with our citizens remains the same as when we were at the novice box.
