I wholeheartedly agree that we need more content and an elite profession would be great as well, but it must remain balanced. Although I like the ideas of the maintenance costs for the above perks on any but the main 3 planets it would be quite difficult to maintain. Currently I am mayor of the largest city on Rori (Tempest) with 47 citizens. There are no other cities even appearing on the map at this time.

If this senator profession was implemented now what chance would we have to enact any of the above policies given the high cost? This would, in my opinion, be yet another reason for people to move to the more inhabited worlds where enactment of such policies would be negligible considering the number of inhabitants.

Yes, there should be a cost for these policies but there must be some way to balance cost versus citizen count on a given planet. Why not charge per citizen. The more citizens on a planet the more it costs to implement? Seems much more fair to me.

This is a works in progress yes.

As has been frequently mentioned across variuous post, once a city is up and running with the civic structures in place, there isn't much for a mayor to do.

Anthing which increases game play for this profesion can only be a good thing - and a planetary and/or galactic senate seems to be a logical step forward.

One sugestion I would add to the original post - perhaps the skill levels of the mayor should play some part, giving players an extra reason to hold those skills, and better still give a reason for the currently pointless "Master Politician".

Here's an odd bump on an old idea I dearly love.

Opinions?

I must of missed this first time round but I agree as I am sure every politician does that there should be more gameplay for us and I believe you are on the right path although I do feel that these ideas would need padding out and fine tuning.

But we are at the end of a very long list.

Though this sounds like a great idea, I doubt anything of the sort would ever be coded. We were told at Fan Fest that anything higher than "Mayor" is disallowed to the game by LucasArts due to timeline/continuity and possible EU implications, should they allow senators and governors and a planetary over-government to be in-game coded.

So, though a good idea for more content, probably not gonna happen, sorry.

I agree with the planetary positions, we need to expand our political power in the game... on my server i have started the galactic council and we have started something like this on our own....i think if we hold our breath for SOE to give us a revamp and some of these powers we want we would be in for a long day. With jedi and all the other heavily populated profs, we will have to make due on our own.
