Thread: City Hall item limit?

I just noticed this last night, and I'll verify tonight, but has any other mayornoticed that there is suddenly an item limit on your city hall? I didn't see anything in the patch notes about it, but I could have missed it, I suppose.

Now, granted, I've gone a little crazy, and almost certainly have more than 250 items in there, but I never knew exactly how many because the structure management terminal won't tell you! So I decorated - a lot -because I could. However, last night I tried to drop something, and I got the now unfamilliar message about too many items in the building. "Hmmm", I thought, "they must have implemented that with the last patch." So I did what everyone does when they run out of room and picked up 20-30 items to move them to another building, then tried to drop something again... same message. This can only mean that I have way too many items in the building already - I'm far over the newly set limit, or at least by more than 20 or 30 items. So I now have to pick up items one after another until I hit the magic barrier and find myself able to drop things again.

Before anyone says it, this is not a whine. I don't want to be able to place more things in a city hall than I should (although the freebie time was nice). What I'm annoyed about is thatwe have no way of finding out how many items are in the building, because there is no structure status option on a city hall like there is on every other building in the bloody game! IF the devs want to nerf us like this, fine, I understand about the database, server load, how the terrain engine is adversely affected by the movement of Jupiter through thefourth house of Gemini, yada yada. But at least give us the ability to work within the rules, instead of having to guess what they are. It can't possibly be so difficult to add that option to the terminal, and with this new limit apparently in place, it's now a neccessity as opposed to a niceity.

On a positive note, this is some attention from the devs that we didn't think we'd be getting until the multitudes of historically inaccurate Jedi are happy and fuzzy in their new councils. Kinda like a step-child getting beaten and then told not to complain that they never get any attention.

The 250 item cap has been in the game for city hall for the last, well I can personally vouch for since the patch upping thecap allowed per world and more then likely since cities got patched in to begin with. You probably just placed your hall close to a server boundary or somesuch allowing you to go over that for some reason. My friend's cantina did the same thing and he had 260 in it at one point. Couldn't drop anything, even after picking up 1 or 2 items.

As for the terminal, well that is primarilly because all you can do is destroy the hall. Afterall, maintenance is paid by the treasurey and costs more depending on your rank, and all the perks you put in your city. You can't make the place private nor add admins ot the hall. The only thing status could possibly show is the item count like you said but really I don't see the problem. I mean it isn't like there is a lot of square footage in the city hall. You can tell when you have a ton of items in it and are likely close to the 250 cap or can count 'em out to be sure of where you are.

Good points all, but you haven't seen our city hall. I'd hate to have to count the items inthe aquarium. I also wonder why -if the problem here is in fact a server boundary -this just started for me last night.

I just think it's silly to not give us the basic management options that all other property owners enjoy. How hard can it possibly be to implement the structure status report for city halls?

The commands /structure, /setpermission Admin, /setpermission Ban, and /setpermission Entry don'twork in the city hall or the clone lab. The only person that has admin access for these is the mayor. This may have been the case in a previous version but I just tried it on version 9.3 and it did not work.

    they were removed -

with them, you could make the residence ( city hall ) private and no one could every challenge you as the mayor.
