Thread: Important changes to Politician
*collapses in relief*
Now if they just extent the zoning rights to the maximum city radius life will be looking much, much better.

ahhh. Improved Job Market was moved from II to IV....![]()
Everything else looks good though! ![]()
These are good changes, especially changing /grantzoningrights to novice politician. That should cut down on the griefing somewhat...
I hope they scale or reduce maintenance rates next.... An "outpost" should not have to pay 100k or even 50k a week, that is just ridiculous....
YAY! Ok wait, does that mean from the start I can restrict who can build in my city? Or just what can be built?

2. The Policy line has been changed
Novice Polition includes: GrantZoningRights
What can be built, not who can build it. We need to keep a constant guard against Mayors controling who can build in a city. They dont own the city, the people do, all the people that want to live there.
No private cities! No Mayors that act like kings!

And a major NO to other Mayors and players telling us how to run OUR City!! ![]()

And what if the people decided they wanted a private city, and elected a Mayor who's job it was to keep it that way?

Excuse the Noob Question - but how exactly will zoning rights work?
I was interested to the answer of this aswell - I know fundamentally how it works, the point im still unsure about - and Unable to find any clarification on is this:
Does zoning rights apply to any and ALL buildings, or are houses an exception?
are there any exceptions to zoning rights?
Is there anything you can do about current buildings within the city limits
This is a point of great interest to a lot of people.
From what I have read/heard... commercial zoning rights are available to a Novice Politician.
Residential zoning rights are not available. Period.
So basically, if you want a PA-only city... you gotta place your city hall and fill all the surrounding circle with your houses, factories and city structures.
Still hoping the devs will just allow full zoning rights... otherwise there is no controls and the cities are going to be big ugly messes lacking any form of residential city planning.

Read the "Answers" link. It says, and I quote
"Q: Are zoning rights just for commercial structures? A: No, zoning rights are for any structure placed within city boundaries."
