Yes, people who answered this thread, especially Pappi, pleasego check out the Flurry forums. This is not just some innocent placing of a player city, but a calculated griefing strategy by using the player city to tax unsuspecting home owners and businesses the maximum amount possible and take over land that had houses built there for months. There was no advanced warning to any of the people that had houses there already. This is alot more than a couple of houses in the middle of nowhere.
The player city in question is Hortence City, located south of Coronet where houses and vendors were established there long before player cities. I'm sure every server has areas right outside of big cities where people set up their shops and houses. This player city is an attempt to destroy that community by forcing a player city to people that want no part of it. All this was explained by the typical "this is the GCW, deal with it" excuse where it's clearly an attempt to grief a large portion of the Flurry community. It sets a bad precedence. Do you want to see a bunch of player cities suddenly appearing over popular common areas that players have settled long before player cities arrived? Do I also need to mention that cross server people was recruited to set up dummy residences in order to sway the vote to the mayor's favor so that it will be even harder to vote him out? Something else also mentioned is banning people who have houses in the city but did not declare residence, so even if they declared residence, they can not vote in city hall.

Yes Pappi, please assist in this matter if you could. It's causing a firestorm over on the Flurry boards, and personifies the dangers Player Citites can have. A politician has created a city and added citizens with no prior consent, and is destroying their businesses.

I like to hear some more reaction of the use of player cities to grief a large amount of players and what can be done to stop this type of problem.

If you continue to question SOE regarding this topic you will be banned from the forums. They would rather ban those trying to resolve this situation rather than the players that started it. Good policy. Requires the least amount of effort on their part.

I will be making a character tomorrow and heading over there with purely neutral intentions. If I get city banned for strolling through without entering a city, you can bet your butt there will be a report ticket made.
Just an update:
I went, I made, got banned (all I did was literally stroll through town), deleted the character. Will try again tomorrow and see if it happens again.

I hope you have another account with a different log in name. I'd wager most of the people around here are not going to be so quick to answer your questions this time around. What you and Hortence have done is 110% uncalled for and greifing.

so one of the current residents in the city should get novice politician and everyone should vote for you instead of the other person. then drop the hall.

If memory serves, this is one of those things CSRs DO react about.
Has anyone from Flurry bothered to submit a ticket?
