I think it was also a response to the Christmas buddy key accounts. Unlike the current trial scheme, they could own houses and be citizens, and you could have as many buddy keys as you wanted. They've learned from that mistake.

Oh yeah, can sympathise with that. We had a hell of time convincing people not to get the buddy keys and create storehouses with them. Evil, bad and nasty idea that was from the start. At least with the 14day trial keys you can't drop a house/harv, etc.

I love answers that imply some deep devious planning..they are almost universally bs..
The most likely reason it came out was because it was buggy as hell. How do I know? Because it was deleting citizens from my city who had been at a party IN THE CITY the week before they got deleted. Shortly after bugging that and hearing others stories about cities being hit by it the code came out.

I just did a seach in the Holocron last night and also in the "NEW" Knowledge Base and apparently, both say the 6 weeks is STILL in effect. Unless someone has something that states otherwise............
