If you can't take the pressure of leadership, don't be a politician

You should have a way to leave office tho, offering it toanother politician, who then had the option to accept or reject.

What you describe sounds pretty much like everyday business as part of leading any guild. Any sizeable guild should not burden a single person with everything, and few do.Most guilds have multiple advisors sharing the work and cooperating. A mayor should similarly have people helping him.

If none of your citizens are willing to take a share of the workload, then I'm sorry, but I dont think your city will last. This may sound cynical, but if a city crumbles, it opens up a slot for someone else to have a go.

Only healthy cities with leaders who know how to delegate responsibility, and with citizens willing to cooperatewill survive in the long run.

What you don't understand is the fact that I'm in a multigaming guild and friends with much of the people in it. If I quit, the whole city goes away thus resulting making a lot of people very angry.

You specifically said they didn't help you out by giving the person enough votes. I simply suggest sending an e-mail to citizens and letting them know what your intentions are. Nobody is binding you to this profession except yourself.

Not a lot of constructive criticism here so I'll try and offer some. I am the mayor or Multi PA city with over 120 people in it....121 yesterday.....It's a LOT of work. Especaly when ppl constantly want houses and trainers and terminals and the like. Here are sone things I do to help lessen the burden of being the ONLY person in the town that can do anything.

Firstthing is get you a militia. They help me a TON when it comes to Zoning. We have a VERY STRICT City plan and they each follow it to the 'T'.

Trainers is my biggest headache. But I started chargin ppl 2500 credits for me to rotate them out. Seems to work well. PPl dont ask for traines unless they NEED it now.

This is the biggest help. You have some friends who play with you obviously. If you have anyone you can trust...Get them to help you out. Give them your account info so they can handle some of the things while you are playing other games or at the Bar or wherever. This really helps me because I know that when I'm not there things can get taken care of. I play 2 accounts too so it gives me time to level my other character.

You just gotta have patience. Like was mentioned in this thread...the first few weeks are going to be KILLER...moving placing and changing things...but then it will slow down and you can have a Tailor make you a nice Purple Suit and sit on the steps of your City Hall and Bask in your City and all it's glory...but for now...Grab on and hold tight!

Hope this helped a little....Good Luck.

So I ask once again, what would happen if I dropped novice politican while i am mayor?

Bad Bad things, don't do it!

I often find my time now, as mayor, spent either in the city or managing my power business. I literally don't have time for other things. I could if i made it but I feel i need to be in the city for the citizens, whether or not i'm needed at the moment, and i'm happy with that. Yes, I would like to do other things, for example, i've never been to endor. I WANT to go to endor. but it has to wait.

If you can't get at least 50% of your citizens to vote in a week for your opponent, you have a very weak city. Sorry, but it's true. Use mail feature adressed to 'citizens' to send global mail to all your people and advise them to vote for new mayor. I find it hard to believe you are that pressed for 15 skill points at the moment. I've given up scout and medic for poli and those aren't hard to get back. I can't fathom the 'need' for the points as a big issue.... just wait a week and use yoru mail feature to tell the citizens to vote.

If you are not getting a 50% resposne rate, the something is very very wrong. Likely you grew with minds in only numbers and not quality. If that is the case, I have no pity.

You decided to be Mayor because you thought it would be fun... Lets see... Tailors make clothes...Armorsmiths may weapons...Pistoleers shoot things...Entertainers dance around. Mayors...well they SOCIALIZE. They talk with their city members, make sure the city is layed out nice, that it's maintained well. You may have to run a political campaign. You have to decide on taxes and do alot of administrative work...guess what, that's what a real Mayor does. It shouldn't have surprised you. I'm enjoying playing a Mayor. It's alot more work right now in the start up phases, but I like moving people, decorating the city, making sure houses have their maintance payed up. I do most everything myself (except /warn and /ban), and my city now has 70+ people. I'm soooo busy, but I love it. Guess what you ALSO have skill points left over and can do something else with them, like become a pistoleer and go and kill things. Right now it may be busy with a city starting up, but it will be simplier in the future. Next time think, before you choose your position.

LOL! Easy solution to this one. You already have the replacement mayor lined up, correct? You tried to get everyone to vote for him, but couldn't get the people to get off their asses in order to do so, right?

Why are you still doing things around the city? If you don't want to do them anymore, then don't do them. If people ask you to do them, tell them that you're not going to be mayor anymore and that they need to go vote for the new mayor. If Bob says, "But, I did vote for him!" then tell him that he needs to help your transfer power by getting everyone else to vote for the new Mayor, too.

The best thing about this idea? Since you're no longer going to do any of the Mayor stuff, you can just go play the game now! Given enough time with you refusing to handle city services, the problem will sort itself out as people get wise and decide to actually vote you out of office like you've been asking them to do!
