Simply move the POI's to a point at least 2,000 meters from any city and then give it a no build zone of 1,000 meters. So simple. So direct. So sensible. So easy.

Ok... From my experences with SOE they will take away this /citywarn and after mabe a month or 2 when they do there next publish or mabe a few days after it goes live and EVERYONE complains and bickers about it they will do some cinda 1/2 fix to try to get us to shut up and fix it in the easyest way with the least amount of work.


I really liked what i saw in swg 2 years ago. Now this game is going down the hole becuse of the REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD LIVE TEAM!

They've made it pretty clear that they are going to make the change in favor of the few whiners and against all the people who put time and effort into building communities.

They aren't going to replace it with anything new. That takes too much time and effort according to their posts.

They'll "reinvestigate it in the future." In other words, they want to forget about this whole thing and hope by saying this that we'll hold onto the false hope of getting some sort of future alternative--you've seen it before, so you know what I'm talking about.

In the meantime, if your city gets griefed by spammers, TEF abusers, covert invaders and mob-pullers, please feel free to file a CSR report. If they don't delete your ticket without comment, maybe you'll get a response a week or two later, well after the damage has already taken its toll.

All I ever got was a canned autoreply that had nothing to do with the issue at hand....

They say the originators of the citys do not own them and that /citywarn abuses the other players.I for one think this is bull**edit**.I would like to say that if we do not own city then why do we have to pay for it and or pay for the city hall and all the things that go in to the city.



The politician tree is the largest waste of skill points that gives the mayor squat in return.I have yet to see what good it is .granted when you get the specialization stuff its a nice perk but barely makes up for the 64 skill points you use .They are removeing the one thing that citys had to protect themselves from invasion.


The people of my city want /citywarn so their peace and quiet is protected and not run under by people who cause others greif.We the citizens of our city have no recourse now if someone is in our city causing trouble.


You say no one will just stand there in your city and cause trouble but that has already proved to be wrong.There are people who camp spots waiting for others to get TEF just to greif them they take joy in causing others agrivation.So if my city puts in a factional mission terminal we will be greifed by morons like this and have no recourse to get them out of our city .


SOE thank you so much for trashing the potential of this game since day 1.



May the farce be with you. because this isnt what Star Wars was all about.

Doesn't look like it's going to happen. TH and Holo said its coming out. Unbelievable.I guess the hard work that PAYING CUSTOMERS put into thier city doesn't matter. They can't deal with the exploiters and griefers so they punish the whole player base.


If /citywarn is being taken out then we want the following.. or at least I do:


1. ABILITY TO SEE WHO OWNS FACTORIES, HARVESTORS, AND HOUSES UPON EXAMINING THEM.


2. /cityban WILL BOOT THEM FROM THE CITY FOR A DETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME.


3. /cityignoreWHICH WILL AUTOMATICALLY SET THE /ignore ON THE EACH CITIZEN IN THE CITY. AT THAT TIME THE CITIZEN MAY CHOOSE TO UN-IGNORE THE PLAYER or LEAVE THEM IGNORED.

Fixes

1) Citywarn is retooled for the min spec player having to load, receive warning, and leave a top rank town from near center.

2) Area 1-2k around POI is immune to city influence (i.e. no warnings)

3) Citywarn gives option to move warned player (choosable by warned player) outside city limits?? (don't know if it's easily programmed, but would limit time required for #1)

4) Ensure that cloning defaults to NPC City unless specified (yes I know it's on TC but won't care until it's proven in-game)

5) Turn /citywarn back on

Those won't solve most of the griefing problems with /citywarn. Before it can be added back in, there needs to be realistic solutions presented to the following problems...


1) How do you preventmilitias from using /citywarn to drive off other politicians who are trying to compete in the election?


2) How do you preventmilitias from using /citywarn to punish voters who aren't voting the way the mayor likes?


3) How do you preventmilitias from using /citywarn not as a means to drive out griefers but instead to force every possible player they can into PvP?


4) How do you preventmilitias from using /citywarn to harass visitors while they are in the middle of conducting business in a town, such as purchasing a shuttle ticket or using a vendor.


5) How do you prevent militias from using /citywarn to indiscriminately harass citizens who are not part of the "in" crowd?


6) How do you prevent militias from using /citywarn to harass or try and drive off newly annexed citizens?


7) How do you prevent militias from using /citywarn to harass Bounty Hunters who's NPC marks have moved within the cities boundries?


The reason why the devs are ignoring all the petitions is because most/citywarn supportershave either failed to address anything but POI griefing, or are else of the opinion that the above aren't griefs, which is at odds with the devs vision of how player cities are supposed to work. Unless a solution besides "city reputation" can be developed in order to overcome the above problems, then I wouldn't expect /citywarn to be coming back anytime soon.
