Thread: CITY BUG OUR CITY CAN'T UPDATE (grrrrr)

I have received a little more information on this from a couple of CSR's this morning.

It seems that the caps were not raised, but at about the time the patch hit there were some problems on a few servers where cities dropped below the required count needed for a shuttleport. It seems that since the shuttle does not dissapear immediatly, even though the city lost it's residents, another city 'earned' a rank 4 position and was able to place a shuttle.Since the city that fell regained residents before the shuttle decayed, they also have a shuttle.

It seems this has happened several times, but usually with only one city at a time... the rare exception must be on Eclipse where it happened to 4 cities at once. They decided to leave the shuttles in place due to the "bug" so no one would feel shafted.

I am not sure if this is the case everywhere, but the CSR stressed this it isnot intentional and that caps were not raised. It certainly makes sense... "@$!&# buggy game"...

If anyone has any other information please post it here... also if we could get word from our correspondant about this it would be welcomed.

i have a stupid question here, but is there a way to check on current numbers of cities on my server/planet? a command of sorts, without driving around and counting.

i am on tempest/tatooine, started a new city.

thanks

as I know, there's no way to do this... and i don't think there well be anyway...

so if you wanna count, look to your map, click on cities... you have the registered PC on it... for the unregistered ones, you can click on "terminal"... PC usually have at least one mission terminal... so if you see a terminal on the middle of nowhere, a PC might be there... but you have no way to know which one, the name or anything ...

This sounds more plausible then the devs secretly raising the Player City Caps, which is something I doubt they'd do at least until after JTL. With the issues regarding database size they've had in the past, increasing that load by allowing more and larger player cities makes absolutely no sense.

As for the 'useful' comment... no, there is no one around here that's useful. Nope. Not at all...

more plausible indeed... but 3 city breaching the cap at the same time sounded like totally crazy to us for a simple update bug... well, it is crazy it seems then...

btw, the CSR said it was a cap raise at the first place so that's why we went on this track... whatever it is, something isn't right... an we don't know what...

anyway... i guess you misunderstand me on the "usefull" comment... i didn't ask for an usefull comment, they are already usefull,

i asked if someone could report this te devs and have a final statement on what's going on, and where we are going regarding those kind of case(whatever they fixsomething or not)

so do not misunderstand me on this please

oh wellyes, it seems that i'm terribly mistaken ... too bad, but where i'm not mistaken is when i see my bestpoeple and friend quitting the game, too bored of bugs and such things... i love this game, but i hate to see how it is handled... even our most dedicated mayor wanna quit now and stay just to help...

at least i ask nothing more than an official statement... thinking of a fix could be considered as a dream for now

baah, it's with mistake that we learn things, too bad some poeples don't learn anything of thair mistake

Your statement was easily construed as a slam at the able correspondant who works very hard at helping the community get their voice heard. It isn't always possible for correspondants to get direct answers to questions relating to CS tickets and rulings. Many times we get no reply or the same reply you did. Don't ever think that just because you didn't get a personal reply from a correspondant that they aren't working to get these issues resolved, but our primary purpose is to take those issues to the devs, not always to get specific answers. When we do get them we share them.

Pappi is a fantastic correspondant and she is tirelessly bringing up issues for your community. As a mayor and politician I'm thrilled to have her representing me.

I don't know about how Pappi does things but I try to avoid "official" posts unless I have something official to report. The absence of anything from the devs really doesn't help you any more than you already have been helpped by the official response you have received so far. I happen to know for a fact that steps were taken to make this issue known to CS and the Devs becasue Pappi and I talked about it but knowing that really doesn't get you any farther than you are now. I wish they would publically comment as well and explain the confusion, or admit that there is an issue that needs to be addressed. That hasn't happened yet but the dev team is pretty well slammed by trying to finish publish 9.

yeah we understand that publish comes first, and even JTL is very important... but making an official devs point on this would take away loads of confusion...

whatever they say about it, i can be a bug or something else that need to be fixed but can't be fixed atm, it's just to know what to trust...

we have CSR saying caps have been raised with 5, and other people from different server saying it's prolly a cap bug... well, there's no way to know what is happening other than having an official point.

we just wanna know what to hope in fact (been a while i keep asking CSR if there's some news about a possible cap raise)... should i continue giving hope to poeple (like merchant) that definitly want a shuttle or say them to forget about it and that they 'll have to work with that or leave the city to another with a shuttle (the shuttle is kinda usefull for commercial aspect)

if it's a bug, as i guess seeing how some other city are bugged as well, like Outland, naboo, eclipse where you can travel via shutlle even if the city is rank 3 and have no shuttle), at least we could know that it will likelly be fixed one day or another...

well, i guess you understand our need of information, i thought it would have been faster since we're on this since publish 8... sometime patience run very low and you might see why we can get bored easilly

the caps are bugged

there s no doubt about it

i m mayor of a currently 79 citizens holding lvl 3 city

and 2 weeks ago one of our lvl 4 cities fell finally

but no lvl 3 city was able to advance

now after 2 tickets, 3 mails, and hours with CSRs telling me to create tickets

i m finally in contact with a supervisor but it seems he also can t help

so the fact seems to be

WE ARE JUST SCREWED!!!

DEVs already mentioned there will be no help/fixes/update before JTL

CSRs can t or simply won t help us

ok, i admit it i get bored pretty easilly on this... so long we wait wait to hear something...

I'm not saying the correspondant here is bad or anything... but at least i tho we could have got some "official" post saying something... I don't reallyknow how it works... so when i see no replies... i feel like our 70 peoples are ignored... obviously this is not the case it seems

bah i'm sorry for this post, that's the bored time post.... hopefully i try to keep away from the most annoying things... or i wouldn't be there but playing something else i guess
