It's not a flame, it's a welcomed question.

The Krayt Hunting grounds have always been a very active area in the game. We have been out there for months providing all sorts of items hunters want. Weapons, Armor, Healing, "Search & Rescue", making Weapons and Armor on the fly from looted resources, etc.

Commercially it's a wise place to be if you've got some skilled artisans. A doctor makes $10k per Revive or $6k per set of buffs. A weaponsmith makes weapons for a nice price right there instead of hoping someone stumbles across their vendor and buys something.

The other reason I placed there is that unlike other groups who place near Points of Interest, I trust that most of the people here with me will also feel the same I do and so far our vote has been STAGGERINGLY in favor of NOT placing a Cloning Facility.

As for the Shuttleport, I'm certain we will be placing one - especially if monies are received both inbound and outbound because that has the potential to make the shuttleport self-sufficient - helping to assure the city's long term survival.

Like I said.. I don't expect everyone to agree.. I'm pretty sure there's gotta be another city out there by the Graveyard on Lowca.. and I wouldn't be surprised to find their cloning facility the closest one available come Thursday... but that does NOT mean I have to succumb to that level.

Hopefully through this post I can get some Mayors to think "beyond" their city limits.. that's all.

Yeah TC seems to indicate that Krayts are going to get much harder. So build what you want. I think the Devs are realizing that killing a Krayt should be a rare thing and that the possibility of a Cloning facility so close changes the tactics. This is how they responded.

Because of the fact you are using morals to guide your decisions as mayor, we have to throw you out of the guild. We can't have morals interfering in our decisions.

Just kidding. It is a good question.

But as was mentioned before, I think maybe the decay costs would give some folks pause before running in after a Kryat again and again. I know it would for me.

By placing your city near the POI in the first place "long ago" as you said you were trying to take advantage of it. If you didnt want kryat dragons in your town, you should not have placed it in the graveyard In terms of having people that can't handle it cloning a million times and running back...so what? The devs have added decay, so these people will burn through armor and weapons, increasing your sales. I guess I fail to see how this is a "Moral" desicion at all... would you really consider yourself "morally" correct if you didnt place a cloning center? If the people of your city don't want a center, don't get one...but don't claim the moral high road.

Placing extra fees on cloning and shuttle tickets for that town could fund everything....

Maybe you should just cash in on them.

The thing is - used properly and without changing people's tactics, the cloning center is a great idea in a great location.

However, with it so close, people could easily just leave all of their armor / decayable items in a Bank or a House (since Weapons do not incur decay penalties), charge in against those Krayts, bleed them, die, clone, rush back, repeat if necessary, loot. Thus skirting the decay issue entirely while being able to drop mobs they normally would not be able to (afterall, Krayts tend to vanish / regen when attackers have to run back from Mos Taike)

It's not the use I'm concerned with - it's the abuse. I do agree that holding out a little while not to be the first bad egg is a valid stance and what most of the players in the city agree with... however, I don't understand how setting up a city where there's going to be a high volume of customers for the artisans makes me the anti-christ =)... Two things,

First I don't think we can add fees to the cloning center like we can the shuttleport. Wish we could, but I have not seen a radial option to do so.

Second, have you seen the post where on testcenter krayts now have 300k ham? Not sure if in the long run this will be good or bad for our towns.
