you make large assumptions..

ok, so you are on the ball and noticed that a city dropped... maybe other cities did not notice. maybe they had no idea that they had any chance at all of growing to level 4... maybe they dont have a shuttleport deed sitting in the mayors house on the off chance that at somepoint down the road they will be able to place it... maybe, just maybe they are all jumping for joy right now and collection credits to buy a shuttleport or mining lots of ore so they can build one... maybe they are having trouble finding a DE to make them the protical droid chasis... maybe anything.... maybe the mayor is away for the weekend.

ok, so you say you updated at 2:00am so you think you were the first to update that day right?

did you place your city hall right on patch day when they raised the caps? got that hall up within 10 minutes right? maybe from the other 10 new cities that also went up that day 1, 2, 3 or 5 of those 10 got their hall up a minute or two before you did... all city halls would have gone up within minutes of each other.

you have no idea who got their hall up first, so it is highly likely that someone elses city went up a minute before yours. that means that they update before you do.

now go away and have a think about what i have said and what others have said... still want to cry bug?

if so, then you have other issues.

if this is actually a bug then i will eat my hat.

Everybody who seems to be whinning about city caps are those who tried to build player cities on the 3 big planets. We tried to place a city on Bria server on Tatoooine but couldn't because planet city caps had been reached. After 2 weeks of waiting it was obvious we would never be ablel to have a player city there, and even if we did, we would never get past a level-3 city.

After 2 more weeks of scouting locations on Lok and Dantooine, it was decideded to place a player city on Dantooine. This work paid off, as 4 wks later we became a level-4 city and placed our shuttle port. With 15 level-4 cities on Dantooine, only 5 more player cities can reach level-4 cities, which will happen in the next 1 to 2 wks. The reality of level-4 player cities is that time is critical. If you pick Dantooine, Lok, Talus or Rori, you have a realistic change of building a player city and that is just the reality of this situation.

It seems that all the people whining about not being able to get to level-4 city are those who tried to place cities on Tatooine, Naboo, and Coriella.

I had a window of opportunity to place a city hall on Christmas Eve for about 4 hrs. In retrospect I'm glad we didn't as we never would have been able to advance past a Village or a Township. I sent sent a few CSR tickets on this issue and was frustrated as many of you were also. However, after much consideration, It was realized it was best to just move on and work on placing a city on another planet with a realistic change at success for a level-4 city.

Location and timing are everything for placing a player city. Some people even went to other servers with less popultion base to start their cities and were also successful. If you really want a player city, you will make it happen, and do whatever it takes to make it happen. Instead of wasting valuable time (letting weeks go by) whinning about not having a player city with a shuttle port, that time (wasted weeks) could have been spent starting a new city on another planet, where you could reach a level-4 city and have a shuttle port in as little as 3 to 4 weeks.

We are a level-4 player city on Bria server on Dantooine near the imperial outpost and this is exactly what we did, and just became a level-4 city and placed a shuttle port 4 weeks after placing our city hall.

The bottom line is that getting a level-4 city ins't impossible. If I can do it, then it is certainly possible for anyone else to do the same if they really want it bad enough and are willing to work very very hard to get there.

btw lochar, nice job going through my post history and 1 staring all of my posts going back a few weeks. i know it was you because they were all 1 stared not long after you read my first reply on this thread.

you have too much time on your hands to go to all that trouble. you might want to have a long hard look at yourself if that is the kind of thing you do for fun.

get a life bud.

This is funny blaming me for 1 starring posts and AFTER you just sit there smugly trying to tell me that I am making assumptions.

I dont waste my time ever rating messages, so why should I start with you? Obviously tho someone doesnt like you and your contributions to threads. I have no qualms admitting anything, afterall I am labelled a whining, crybaby for fighting for my town, what difference would it make to add petty to that, but if I one starred posts of thingas that I didnt like I would be on the forums forever.

FYI,

Bajeezus was the one who said it was a bug already with lvl 4 and 5, and that others were noting the same issues as we had, but he is not a dev so I guess you stiokll dont believe its an issue.

Also the city that lost its shuttleport and lvl 4 rank is once again at lvl 4 after they got some citizens to join them, which basically shows there is a problem when there was at least 1 if not more that should have filled the lvl 4 slot once they lost it.

And location is the key to a good city, that plus what they have to offer, we have a great location and before we move it would have to be to a place that has something to lure visitors. Why would I want to move to an out of the way place unless I have something that people would want to visit there. Besides the main 3 cities are also hubs of space travel, its a matter of convenience.

Lochar & all...

I just started a discussion thread stickied on this page on this issue, asking for more data. Those who assert that Lochar can not know whether there was another city that levelled up in between his observations are, of course, right. So, we need to present more data to the devs on this. This is not an issue that can be easily tested on TC, since they simply don't have the populations to test this. Have a look at the new thread, and if you have observations to report, please do. I appreciate Lochar bringing his observations to me and I'd like to get the rest of you to help in confirming or refutingwhat he has reported.

once again you like to assume. i am the mayor of a fair size city on naboo on my server, one of the first cities from the first city patch. and i playseveral hours a day.

you have been informed that this is a bug? who informed you? was it buggs bunny, the tooth fairy or thunderheart?

if it was number three then there you have it. you were right. if not then it is not fact, but someone taking a guess... brings us back to assumptions again eh?

and i never said i had facts... i simply point out that you also have no facts. you tell me to "troll elsewhere" for not having any facts... so why not take your own advise and not post this until you do? naw, that would make too much sense. you want action on something that may or may not be an issue.

if this is a bug that is acknowledged by the devs then i feel for you and the other cities on your planet/ server that are being held back. my point is that i do not believe that this is a bug. plain and simple.
