I was for the flattening of terrain but the terrain is what makes the city I manage unique. There is one or two depressions I would like to fill in but the terrain does give our city an interesting look. What I like to see:
- City fiscal management report. What costs the city what? How much money came in and from where (income taxes, donations, garage tax, etc).
- A permanent city channel.
- A weekly message of the day. Allow the mayor to place a new message at each update.
- Billboards or streetsigns. Let them count as decorations.
- Single flora decoration. A tree or large bush or plant.
- Allow player cities to receive some of the money paid to trainers or cloning facilities or allow mayors to place a tax on these structures.
- A new statue, fountain or some other decoration at each publish.
- Bring back the /citywarn. Place a restriction on it that the command cannot be used within 'x' distance of a POI. If you try to use it within this distance, the militia would receive a message "By Imperial Directive 101.22, you have exceeded your authority and you have been fined 'x' credits."
- 'Wilderness tax' - Houses that are not in a city are not protected by a city. So they would pay an extra 10% on their house maintenance (not structure) due to damage by the local wildlife.
I see that the GCW will be good for factional cities, but not sure how it will be beneficial for neutral cities. It may increase city population for people wishing to avoid warring GCW cities. If mayors of neutral cities could declare an allegiance with one or another factional city, that would open the residents for attack by the opposing faction ONLY IF they are in their home city.
My few credits of comments.
