Ok im sure some of you have heard this but here it goes
On the server starsider a player city was started just outside Cnet OZ and has grown largge enough to cover most of the merchants to the south of Cnet.. For some reason this city thinks it needs all the benifits of a player city, shuttles banks terminal ext, they use this to support there taxing of merchant sales and elevated house fees. But all the merchants are furious because they have no say in the taxation of their goods, and most people other then those of the guild that built the city find this a very bad thing.. So my question for you.. My wife is running for mayor and cannot get votes becasue residence of the town cannot vote becasue they were allready declared in their houses, so is there a fix for this soon, casue the mayor is getting 80+ votes and im sure hardly any of those are from the people he's robbing. And is there a way to get out of the city without moving?? i was there for almosta year and the CSR seems to think its a perictly reasonable expactation for me to move. Also what is the fees for player cities how much does one cost per week, casue they tell us its like 200K a week, wich might be so with all the stuff htey have that they didnt ask anyone if they wanted, except their guild.. I see this becoming a common practice if it isnt all ready.. someone finds a thriving free market and pops a city hall town and makes a few fast million of taxes before he gets tossed out, if it is ever possible to have a hostile takeover of a player city, with so many merchants being light players.. So what would the best way to handle this be short of taking a week to move?

We have seen a couple of houses go poof over the past couple of weeks as residents have left the game or taken extended breaks over the US summer holiday period. This has been offset by some good recruiting of a nice mix of old and new players.
The Master Merchants in the town and myself have finally bitten the bullet and are currently redesigning the commercial district (centered around the shuttleport) and have installed a new Cantina to act as a 24x7 buff centre and shopping mall. We are still trying to get the CSRs to pull down the existing Cantina which was left when the owner left the game for an extended period (we have admin but not being able to rename it is causing us some hastles). Once that is gone and the existing PA Hall/Mall is also pulled down, we will beacquire some much needed space.
Business in the city is doing quite nicely at present, even though we are located on an out-of-the-way non-adventure planet, and the influx of new players, and more importantly, of new player cities on Talus has mean't good things for everyone on the planet.
We are also looking at taking a more active part in the GCW as a means of bringing more people into town, and of recruiting new residents, however we are tied between our traditional role as a crafting based city, or that of a fighting based city. We may find a happy mix but without trying its hard to determine which is the better option (or what the right mix is).
Whilst there are increasing numbers of players in town on most days, we have noticed a trend to fewer players being active at any one time, but more visitors returning more often is a good sign.

Well I should have checked out this forum a while ago this is a great post, assuming its name indicates correctly that it is a weekly thing
Anywho here's my first Report here so it might be a bit long :-/:
New Hope, Dantooine Report (Ahazi)
Instituted a property tax this week, causing the medical center to poof earlier than it should have, which caused some mixed reaction. It was mostly a prestige item since most sit in the cantina to heal/buff the med center just held space 'till they make it so that you can't heal in the cantina. Two houses remain from inactive players next to the shuttle port till we can complete the city square, we get lots of compliments on the city because of the city square, and its not even finished yet. Another guild requested to join our city, that will bump us up over 85 for Metro status again (we lost it a while back, long story) and will give NH three guilds again, including (CoV) my guild 60+ members, (DURNI) 15+ members and now this new guild with around 15 or so.
Also this week with the GCW and Combat being in a kind of limbo we have been adding to both the economy and some RP content. The city mall has grown to 13 vendors with about 8 active crafters, so I am dumping my merchant profession since I dont' need to hold that up anymore, and my resource vendor is now reduntant (I hated merchant anyway) still have to hold up the cantina though with so few professional entertainers out there I have had to perform in the cantina most times AFK in order to keep the missioners from leaving for mining outpost or Coronet... its hard to compete with the NPC cities some times. As for the RP content, we started construction and donation to a city museum, gonna have all kinds of rare loots, also as part of the museum we are going to have several houses around the city open to the public and post their locations in the city hall so people can go and view really well decorated houses and personal loot collections.
I'm changing out the gardens in the city square to spruce up the place, and have been getting some positive comments on it, and once some of these inactive houses poof the city will finally be close to finished.
That's it for my bring you up to date post, its leaving out a lot, but its enough for you to get an idea of the place. We are the longest standing city on Dantooine, and since you have a character on Ahazi Pappi you should stop by, I'll even pop ya some creds if you need so you can tour more of the server
