Thread: Dealing with Errant Citizen
well a lil info i got once from a csr once was this......
make up an email to send to people when they decide to become a citizen of the town. lay out the rules of the city and state in there that you will be asked to leave if you break any of these rules. then mail this to the citizen and yourself and keep the copy saved so you can present it to the csrs in your defense. if you have that much against the person then they can do something to help you get rid of that person.

that's a great idea
it's also a good idea to have your citizen email you back stating that they read those rules. then they have no excuse
thats a lot of e-mails to save

yup, and I don't do that myself... however, I do have a screening process, I require recommendations from existing citizens, and we usually conduct a short chat just to make sure the person's alright. we still have lots of dead houses due to folks leaving and the devs putting TC in the freezer for weeks on end though
The thing to remember is that there is always the /report option if the other player is truly being harrassing. If they are being rude and inconsiderate or just downright offensive, you can turn that player over to the CSRs. The /report basically copies the chatlog of what was said just prior to the /report, although when I've had to use that option I copy over the relevant text with timestamp (I keep it turned on in my options) to include in the report. You won't get the "juicy" details of what the CSR chooses to do, but I've never had a problem again with anyone I've used that command on.
I know for a fact that CSRs will rename houses with offensive or rude house signs. But they can only do that if you /report or send in a ticket. They are there to moderate so that we shouldn't have to resort to borderline fraud/griefing.
