I would love stations but I am concerned because of player population leaving the planets. Since atmospheric flights will not be allowed I can only see player cities vanishing and player stations (if possible) would fill in for the vanishing cities. I would hope that the devs under the new leadership have the insight to merge the need for planets, player cities, and the space exp into one. But Ireally hope the space exp will be lots of fun and not a bugged failure.

if they are not linked to player cities, (possibly some type of discount, but not just restricted to player cities), I can see many cities vanishing as well if favor of the space station city. I would seriously consider leaving our city for this as space will be 'new and exciting' and the ground cities are a bit old.
It would be very nice if they were 'modular' so you could add resident floors.. the hanger bays, defense and really design a space station in a unique manner rather than just have your generic one or two types of space station or 'small, medium, large'....
I thirst for information on this greatly. It will have a HUGE impact on cities if not done right and for me personally, a huge impact on my business. I'm also eagerly awaiting information on new 'business opportunities' in space.
I also want a luxury cruise liner.

i am hoping for a modular system also. one where several areas can be deployed by different politicians. thus allowing a teamwork situation to develop a station and not a dictator style with ground based cities (not that i mind having complete control of decorations but....) in any case i know several of you are waiting for space expansion and i felt that continueing to make it known we want space stations is a must now, why it is still in concept. i know they havent posted a "in concept" thing on it in forums but i am getting a feeling here that 90% of SE is going to be strictly at Dev directive and now seems to be the time to make sure they know we want spacestations.

I would love, love, love to see the player city system extended to include space stations, flying cities like Cloud City, etc. I can't think of anything that would improve the Star Wars environment more than that.
I'm with ya on this one, Bajeezus
Would also put a whole new slant on PvP.

personally i hope that space station require citys to get them going. Further I hope that they cant have "residents" but rather ocupants. IE you have to stay a resident of a player city. What I see is that two or more citys having to get together much like rl is today to fund and build a station. From there the residents of those citys can use the resources in the station and on that aspect i see ton's of oportunity.... especially comming from EVE. My guess tho is that in all honesty, this will be very half arsed because that is how the devs seem to do everything.

Being able to build stations that are linked (figuratively) with ground based citieswould be good. The Administrator (Mayor) of the station and the mayor of a ground city could go to their respective terms and choose to "Link" a ground city with a space station. All residents of the ground city would then be a resident of both station and city. Residents could then vote for admininstrator of the station. On construction I would like to see:
- Command Center
- Power Module
- Life Support
- Med Bay
- Corridor
- Living pods (owned by players)
- Docking Bay
- Shield Module
- Turret Module

nah i dont like the linked idea, space stations should be 1 per planet and people share it and develop areas on there own that way we get some good teamwork and more people in a smaller area (population on cities is way to diluted) well just my 2 cents, i know we all want them
(in the mean time go play startopia again

Yes while you all (for those who want space stations) go off and gather all the millions of resources you would need to build a space station. Im thinking about gathering all the resources needed to expand my city. /evil Just think while your all up in space i will be taking over Naboo.
Ill be suprised if the Devs acctually make the Space Expansion worth while. I have many doubts about it. As much as i would really like it, i can see it causing alot of problems.
- Will Space be 3d in that you can Yaw, Roll, Flip, Stay Still, Forward / Reverse Thrust, Lightspeed etc
- Will Space have boundaries like the planets
- Will you be able to take off from Lok and Land on Talus
- Will you be able to fly 90 degrees of someone eg:

ive never had trouble making and aquiring the stuff to make my city have 22 gardens, 4 banks, 2 garages, all fountains and statues maybe 10 lights...point is its not about resources its about SW i dotn expect PC's to dry if they introduce space stations, its just ive always been a big fan of the SW games in space, like xwing, tie fighter, xwing alliance so on. space stations would be a great oprtunity for us to coloborate in space.
