Nothing about city accounting/finance tools from the devs. Hmmmmmmmm I was hoping to hear something about that.

Any indication of what they are thinking about concerning Cities and the GCW? Speicifcally city missions that effect GCW? Maybe city spawned battlefields? I am justtossing out some thoughts here....I am sure that a great deal was discussed and that not all of it has been reported yet.

The portion about reduced skill point useage is very welcome indeed. I was also happy to see that the master politician box will get its perks back some time down the road in the future eventually when they get a moment to breath.

All in all, I am pretty luke warm about the results. However, we did get noticed. Thanks for everyone that helped to get us noticed by the Devs.

Cheers!

well i have tried that for 3 weeks now, and now it is time to move on, i have been asked to be mayor of a different city to help them out and i wish to do that to give me some growth in the game, and 3 different CSR's told me the same thing, so i guess they would rather have a city destroyed and people feel griefed rather than give it to the second in command , that everyone liked and respected as well.

but i would like to see if you could ask for me. I just hate to pull shuttle and all the other stuff and they be without it for at least 4 weeks as they climb the rank system again.

also, for those of you with ideas along the lines of having positions above mayor (planet-wide or galaxy-wide), the devs mentioned that something like this would have to be approved by lucas film (not just lucas art, it's a rather big issue)

however, I got to talk to someone from lucas art later that evening (beats me if I remember who it was), and he said that the chances are small due to continuity to the star wars universe. although these are not official dev quotes, I figured I'll let you guys know what I heard.

edit: btw, Kirk black is Runesaber.

Sad, sad ... I long back for the times when Holocron posted things like "give the players the tools to create their own worlds" (such as a senate would be) ... to bad that jedi sells better - and therefore apparantly doesn't need a continuity check

well, judging from some of the responses I've heard in the fanfest (fortunately not in the politician panel but the entertainer one), some of the correspondents have an uphill battle in front of them.

be happy that we're actually one of the professions that will receive goodies. we can't get everything at once, ya know?

My biggest concern is that Green Marine is also the Smuggler dev and they're making a whole lot of pretty justified noise right about now. We're not front of the queue for his attentions.

Not only is he the Smuggler Dev - but as I read the many Post-FanFest Guides the Devs made the same promiss to many many professions ... so after JtL we will be at the same "there is only so and so much time for 33 professions - wait in line"

actually, GreenMarine is responsible for 8 different profs (he needs a raise!), but I've had a chat with him, and he's pretty excited about the politician stuff. I'll be bugging him for you guys

Grand. If you could get him in here to let us know where we're headed that'd be neat. While we might be few, we're the elected representatives of a large proportion of the population, and we need to know where we stand with regards to the services we can offer our constituents.

hon, that's my job... bring our issues to the devs so they know what we think, since (unfortunately) they don't have time to poll and address the forums themselves. as far as I know he's still working on JTL, and the earliest and only major changes we'll have is from the GCW revamp. they have addressed some of our issues at the fanfest, so if you have additional questions, please vote in our "next 19 questions" thread so I can bring them up in the correspondent forum.

Yeah, he was pretty enthused about us and interested in our reactions at the forum. Unfortunately, and he was very blunt about it, PCs aren't his priority right now. But, I believe those of us who were there could really tell that he wished he had time to help us out right away, and I know I have faith that we'll get his best efforts after things settle down some.

Maybe I missed this term when it was being thrown around, but what exactly do you mean by "eminent domain" ? Sounds... interesting...

Imminent Domain is the right of government to claim land in/near their boundaries for their own purposes.

In the US, this specifically also carries a commensuate compensation for the value of the land in such instances.

In this reference, it refers to the ability request of letting mayors 'fix' problems with the city in question from griefers [players who plop down buildings before a growth period to intentionally disrupt the 'city plan' layout] and MIA players [if said city plan changes for instance]. The problem here is that I don't see compensation as a likly occurance, except maybe have it force-redeed the structure in question to the original owner.
