Thread: Big Bug? City denied expansion to Metro today, although it is one of planet's original 10?

I bet its like this: there's a cap for 4 or 5 rank cities. When your city tries to advance it checks to see if the cap has been hit. There are 10 cities of rank 4 or 5 so the code, looking and seeing the cap has been met, denies you the advancement because of the cap. Its not smart enough to know that YOU are one of the 10 making UP that capped amount!
yea, i agree. it is counting your city in the cap of level 4+ as well as considering you for rank 5... it counts 10 rank 4 cities so it counts 11 (you as rank 4, the other 9 rank 4 cities and you as rank 5).. so access denied..
bad code. something i am sure they can and will fix early next week.

Yep. I'd /bug it and put in a ticket myself.

It seems there is also a limit on the Metropolis rank cities. This limit must have already been reached. Currently, this system is operating as designed. If you wish to make a suggestion as to how this can be improved, please visit www.starwarsgalaxies.com and click on the Submit Feedback link that you will find on the left sidebar. We will not be able to contact every person who submits feedback but you may in fact see your suggestions implemented into the game at some point in the future."

Now, I'm still confused. Of the original 10 cities on our server on Naboo, I know that 5 are City or lower, 3 are Metro, and 1 is not on the map at all yet. I do not know about the 10th. I wonder what this Metro cap is number-wise. I would really, really like to hear a Dev weigh in on this, as well as to tell us why a cap would be in place, but not in the publish notes.
Could the source of this perhaps be the update bug? Another city or cities updated several times, tricking the system into believing the cap had been reached when in fact it hadnt?
doh..
looks like the cap on level 5 then is 3 per planet... nice of them to tell us eh?
anyone else confirm or disrepute this? anyone know of 4 level 5 cities on a single planet?
Wonder why they didn't bother to tell everyone about this. What a bunch of BS

It looks like others are starting to have this problem, too: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Politician&message.id=21139
I think there was a bug where people's cities were going through their election cycle within a matter of days instead of the standard week. Hence, their city would grow in this short amount of time as well.
Perhaps a city that was placed after yours had this bug occur to them?

I just want some sort of explanation from the Devs as to what their plan/vision is here. Is this intentional? Was it intentional to implement it without telling us? Why no communication on the issue now?
