This is kinda silly. City structures should still have a cost. If the mayor hasn't signed on for a few weeks, it's time to elect a new mayor. I don't really care what the cause of leaving was. If/When that person returns, run for mayor again. A good mayor will be restored to office, unless the people like the new one better =).

Watch out though, by default (due to a bug I think) the mayor of a town gets all the unchanged votes. So if your mayor goes away, you need the majority of citizens to actualy all vote for the new person, not just the majority of those who vote. Our mayor in the last town I lived in had to go away for a couple of weeks and thus missed the registration time - we knew this so a friend ran to take the office and help in the meantime. When the original mayor came back we all voted for him - and the replacement mayor didn't even enter his name for the election. THe replacement was elected by default because he got the incumbant vote of everyone who didn't actually recast their vote for the old mayor. Wait until next election to fix it and then only by rigorously campaigning to ensure everyone voted for the original mayor, still didn't get enough. In the meantime in an effort to clear up his unwanted mayorship, the replacement actually packed up his house, left the town and CANCELLED HIS ACCOUNT - and was still reelected. It took 3 elections to fix this. SOE acknowledged the bug but for some reason was utterly unwilling to just change the mayorship to the only other candidate to run, from the guy who had packed up and left the game entirely. Utter BS.

So if your mayor hasn't signed on, elect a new one for sure, but you need make sure that the majority of your citizens actually go and vote or its all for nout

Great, there goes all the effort of creating a tax funded city spinning down the toilet, and its gonna make the Mayors dependant on zombie accounts scramble to make up the lost property tax funds (and income tax wont make up for it because it has a cap)

I bet the SOE geniuses didnt think about the lack of tax collection when they turned off the maintenance collection

Sigh...I understand why SOE has implemented this, I mean it would suck terribly to lose all your r/l possessions then go to the game and find you lost your in game stuff too. I just wish SOE would think a lil harder before doing this kind of thing.

Votes aren't automatic anymore. The only ones that are (which is a bug) is that of newly declared citizens who have their vote automatically cast for the incumbent whether they are running or not.

You don't need a majority of your citizenry to vote anymore in order to win the election. You simply need a majority of the actual votes.

If you have a group of 8 people taking missions, you have 16 missions....
If they are worth 12 000 credits each, once you completed a run, you only gained 192 000 credits.... TOTAL ! Not per player ! Mission rewards are split between group members

You will have to make 3 runs to the terminals to gain a total of 576 000 credits.
And there is something to add : the more player in the group, the more ennemies you will encounter at mission spawn. If you are alone, there will be 2 or 3 ennemies. If you are in a group of 8, there will be 13-15 ennemies waiting for you.

Let's say you complete a mission in 5 minuts (that's crazy fast), you will need 80 minuts to complete a 192 000 credit run....
240 minuts to make the 576 000 credits run.... 4 hours of non stop missions...

We are very far from the 1.15M in 2 hours....

First of all, do you play the game anymore or did you just not read his post correctly?

Mission payouts are not split that way anymore. If you are in a group of 8 or if you are alone you get the full ~9K. The number of creatures that spawn is determined by the group size when the mission is taken, not by how many people you have with you when you go. After they have both missions, they form the group and go out together. This will keep the spawn to 2 or 3 NPCs (no creatures since lairs would take longer). Completing each mission in a few seconds, the rate at which they gain money would be related to how far the missions are from eachother and the mission term.

2 missions at ~9K each with 8 people getting paid = 2*~9,000*8 or ~144,000 each.

If all 8 donate the money to one fund it would be 1,152,000 credits. Not to bad for about 30 minutes work tops.

OK, sorry, i missed the "do not group up yet", but low level players won't be able to draw high mission levels....

And yes, mission rewards do split between group members.... If someone takes a 9k mission, groups and complete the mission, the 9k credits are split between group members.... what you said, -> 144k in a 16 mission run if all money is given.

Basically, we agree, i just missed the "don't group up yet"

Grouped players, will automatically default to the highest level player. If that level is say 80, then all the players will pull level 78-82 missions. If the mission payout is say 8k, and the group, together, does the mission/lair, each member gets 8k, it is not split & hasnt been for awhile. Splitting a group will not get payouts for everyone - if a member of the group is away, that member does not collect. You get spatial messages when the lair is completedstating what you made andthat someone may not have collected due to their being too far from the mission. It's best to stay as a group todo missions if your goal is to treasury grind - you make far more.

We have done a few missions last few days to up the treasury a bit & this works just fine - the lvl 80's help get the higher payouts and the lower level players get xp as well.

This was something I was wondering about....my village costs me 138k per week...not much. But in 2 weeks I am going to have to beg for donations or pony up the cash myself, since I cant go credit farmin.

Nice work SOE, way to think it through.

Gather 8 citizens in an Improved Job Market city. Make sure at least two or three are strong combat types, the rest can be anything. Do not group up yet.

Have each citizen get two missions in the given direction. NPC missions seem to be best.

NOW group up, go hunt. Take out the lairs as fast as possible. If you have non-combat types with you, just keep them close enough sot hat when the lair blows, they get paid.

An hour or two later, 16 missions x 8 people = 1.15 million+. Have everyone go donate it to the city.

Lather, rinse and repeat as needed.

Statements and actions like this, is what SOE's Dev Teamare gonna look at and say... "now that's not right", Busting a nest, and leaving the spawns in the area only creates more trouble for everyone, and if your gonna cheat the system by not actually doing the work.. SOE is gonna change things, JUST LIKE THEY DID TO THE SOLO GROUP!... most of my citizens are non crafters and we are on a "credit enriched" server where the prices are outlandishly overpriced... I want my citizens to feel they are making money while they are exping... The solo group was allowing people to get higher level missions than they could solo, without splitting the payout with 10 other people (I used to bring home 3-4 millionin a 3 hour buff sessionon dath in a solo group). SOE allows us to not split the cash but limiting us to payouts at lvls where what we used to get grouped after the Sologroup nerf... I don't want them to have a reason to break that up..... even though they decided to cut the exp down recently. I feel they went about that all wrong but its too late to talk about...

Actions like this will bring attention that we don't want. If the citizens can't come to the aid of the town in a time of need, Its time to look for new citizens. My citizens have shown great support to make sure we keep our city at rank4 in top working order.. they love the shuttle, they love having the bank and all the other features we have.... you may need to send out an email not begging but putting it flat out, They are saving money by not paying maintance, they can take the money that was gonna be pulled "unwillingly" out of thier bank accounts to the treasury, and bank tip you, /tip you, or just go to the city terminal and donate it. If your city works on a property tax, that's easy to figure out aswell, take some time and break down by house maintance x Tax% per day and have them donate to city hall for a week's fees... There is no need to beg since before this change, they did it willingly by staying a citizen. Some of the players may not REALIZE they aren't giving the money, I wouldn't remember unless I got the email saying I paid 2,000 credits to live in the city each week...

Good luck with your cities (my treasury has 18,459,235 credits in it, we worked hard before the rainy days hit,, no pun intended)
