I haven't lost anyone but there are easily 5 citizens of mine that haven't logged in for over 2 months (2 of them not since November).

The deleating of a person's items in a house that is paid, on an account that is paid, is a serious issue.

I can see them loosing citizenship, but there is no need to destroy an account's itemsbecause of R/L issues when the account is being paid for.

I am personally very much interested in knowing more about this, any details would be appreciated. Can anybody answer the following questions?

- Has anybody else ever entered the houses that went poof?
- Has anybody ever added maintenance in the last couple of days before the house went poof?
- Were there other people on the administrator list?
- Did the owners play on a different server in the meantime or were the completely away from the game?

The reason I am asking this is, because I - and probably many other merchants - have a mall with lots and lots of vendors in there. Since none of us have enough free lots for a guild hall we asked a friend from some other server to place it. It is fine with me if the counter really gets rid of any buildings but I would like to know about this kind of thing in detail from the devs first. That way people could get organized differently, to find another solution to the mall problem.

I've been watching homes from "both sides" .. I think my poofage may be due to people leaving the game (altho I know one case that was not) .. been losing between 1-3 weekly, thought it was due to non-payment of rent; but I have 2 homes that I have left "go" .. they are majorly in debt .. but they still stand. I also have 2 "bug" citizens (they may even have dual citizenship) that *have* left to be with their respective guilds in starting a new town..but they are still on my roster.

One of my recent poofages runs a majority of vendors in our town Mall... so I would *really* like to know if they're "gone gone" or just "oops gone".

This is completely screwy.

Publish 6 Update Notes (the Imperial Crackdown):

Player Cities

  • Player city clone facilities are no longer considered for "respawn closest". Only static NPC clone facilities are now considered "respawn closest". Players can still clone at a civic clone facility if they have stored their clone information there.
  • There is now an option on the city management terminal that allows you to revoke your citizenship at any time.
  • Citizens will now be removed from a city if they haven't been online for about 6 weeks.
  • Fixed an issue with mayors getting 100 points of xp less than they should have on city updates.
  • You can no longer deploy a camp in a player city.
  • Fixed a problem where Player Cities level 4 were not updating to level 5

  • This is the only official comment about this change..... I hope you find it as descriptive and helpful as we all have.

6<>3 thus I do not consider it as having been mentioned.

Removed from the city is ambiguous. I thought SOE respected the property of PAYING CUSTOMERS. I sure hope these folks have the houses, factories, and their contents in their backpacks.

This "Feature" should be removed pending a comprehensive review of the concept and a complete testing of the fix. SOE must heed the advice and warnings of those who are Mayors of the Player Cities because it is quite obvious that we know better than they do the consequences of how poorly evaluated changes of this magnitude can be.

Edit Add: Hee hee. Oops =>P It was listed but I still very strongly believe that the destruction of player property for being away for three or six weeks is totally insane.

I've been seeing residents and their structures suddenly vanishing also but fortunately not at a rate that is too bad. But these people who are just away to clear frustration over poor development decisions on the part of SOE are more than likely going to be pissed off the point they will just cancel their accounts when the come back to find they have to start from scratch in a game that is still full of bugs.

I'm a little confused. Given that 3/4 of the Politicians on this forum opposed this change for reasons which included a poor implimentation that could result in people loosing their items, why is it on the production servers? This change concept was flawed and unpopular. The implimentation was flawed and is going to result in lost accounts. The aftermath could cause invested player time and effort to be lost.

I serioiusly hope for SOE's sake that the fact these people are loosing the product of their time and effort in a game they are still paying for is not the result of a stealth patch that denied them the knowledge that would convince them to stop in once in a while to check on the status of their in game property.

Finally: WHERE IN THE PATCH NOTES WAS IT INDICATED THAT THIS CHANGE WAS GOING LIVE INTO PRODUCTION. Without said notification people wouldn't even KNOW they were at risk of loosing everything.

SOE? What the heck are you thinking?! Be ready to deal with some very upset customers.

As I said in another post. I will be a real joy when a mayor needs to be away for a few weeks and cant give notice. Seeing as his residance is the city hall I would thin k the whole city would vanish overnight. Oh what joy.

I have finally had something relating to this bug occur on one of my own structures... the structure is a merchant tent... all my merchant tents were paid up for 80 days minimum last week... i checked... today i received an email saying that my tent located at: blah blah... was at 49% and i was in danger of losing my tent... it is now my belief that this problem is either directly related or compounded by a drastic drop in house maintenance... i will get back to the thread after I get the CSRs to check the logs... hopefully the logs will be capable of verifying the fact...
