Thread: Maintenance Idea: Tax Mission Terminals
Maybe I'm not understanding all of the tax systems, but I'd like to see a tax specific to the town mission terminals. This would allow the mayor to encourage community group missions to pay the town expenses.
That's a pretty good idea. I know a lot of player who aren't declared in a faction but still do missions out of a faction base so I can easily see players doing missions out of a city without living there. If we supply them with a service like mission terminals, then they should be kicking back a little of their payout back to the city in return.
Don't faction bases work like that right now? If so, how hard would it be to copy the code?
Totally agree,
The 5% kickback from base mission terminals has solved all our base maintenance problems. We run big missions out of there and the bases have become so profitable, we'd love for a way to take money OUT of the bases.
If this was available to the cities, it would cover a huge amount of the costs.
Either 1)kickback should not be removed from the players earnings though, it should be an additional, so it should be a fixed 5% not a variable that the mayor sets.
Or 2) It is a percentagetax on top of the missions that the players pay for using the terminal. In which case it is settable by the mayor.
this is a great idea. If the code is already in-game, why not adapt it! ![]()
Now, what benefit is there, they lose 5% of thier cash.... what do they get for it? at faction bases you get 5% more faction, which ANYONE will take over 5% more credits. What about cities? what would the tradeoff be?
5% more faction? I've never seen that. The rebels are getting a 10% faction boost from winning Act 1, but that has nothing to do with the base faction terminals.
Remember that the mission terminals in bases are not taking anything away from the player. They are giving the player 100% of the mission reward, and giving an extra 5% to the base for a total mission payout of 105%. The player doesn't see any change in their rewards.
This is perfect for the mission terminals in-city:
- You can have the Improved Job Market and bump the rewards.
- You can have the convenience of a mission terminal close to home.
- You contribute to the finances of the city.
Those are all the reasons you need, and will attract any player to do missions out of your terminals.
As future Mayor of the RDI city Haven i would vote for this idea where the democracy here when you need it..
