Thread: I don't want TH, I don't want Q or Blair or Shug, GET HOLO IN HERE!
Raphis the one whotalked with us for three years on Player Cities, and told us what we could expect. How they were going to be the epitomy of player generated content, that we could regulate and the citizens could control as they saw fit. Criminal towns where no one was safe walking the streets, quiet, RP hamlets for social events, Imperial garrisons, bustling trade centers where the best prices could be found . . . .
All right, Holocron, we're calling you on it. I want YOU, no one else, to come on in here and tell us how we are supposed to create, enforce, and maintain our cities as you stated we could without the /citywarn command. It was bad enough when we couldn't zone our full radius against people randomly placing houses, but now we are nothing more than just a group of buildings with no law and order, no directable purpose, if this goes through.
The soapbox is yours, O Dragon. *toothy wookiee grin*
And you are getting the world's worst beard yanking for this one when I finally get to meet you.

That is dated from the days of outcasting and outcast cities and has been thrown from the design for a long time.
No, that was from one of his threads right after Outcasting was removed. When a lot of people complained about no more Wildlands, Outcasting, etc., he referred to Player Cities and how the Militia could still recreate the same effects as Outcasting in some ways, but with more regulation, like the timer.

No offense to TH(sorry Hippy) but this really is something that Holo should come back and address. In detail. And actually spend some time discussing.
You gave us this 'vision' Holo, and now your successors are taking it away...
i agree we at least deserve some form of open discussion on this as it clearly from the sheer number of posts is one of the most upsetting things we have seen nerfed
find another way because this is not it !
go back to basics and start banning accounts, if someone is griefing then do as you have promised us...Ban them !, dont take away such a landmark responsibility from the majority of us sensible players please
thanks for reading
I see him post on rare occasions, but obviously not like he used to. I miss ol' fuzz-face too. ![]()

SOE will not go about trying to ban accounts because that cuts into their revenue base. If they alter the game it works better for them because it creates an environment where they don't have to ban anyone for using their syetem in a "bannable" manner. That way they cut the opportunity formahem and limit the possiblities of having to enforce an account closure. What they should realize is that this kind of regulation also works to alienate some players and drives them out anyway. It seems to me that players that have invested the time to build a player city are more likely to spend money to renew subscriptions than someone that considers /citywarn to be a griefing tool.
As in R/L its all about enforcing the existing laws, not about constantly changing them to try to make a portion of the public happy.
Holo was the best dev, then they promoted because he got too popular.
I agree we need some high powered Dev response to this. To be blunt, no one is buying this, Devs. And we are beside ourselves.
Two marginal players in my city quit playing actively. They held on for two months to be our Marshals, our law enforcement. Now they see the nerf and that was it for them. They saw their professions taken down, and now they see their gameplay taken out.

I wonder how the Space Expansion is coming? Maybe Imperial Star Destroyers will have day-care centers for whiners, and there'll be nice espresso bars where rebel intelligentsia can exchange their viewpoints with unenlightened stormtroopers.
