For the Past Three Weeks my City Fal Dara on Radiant hasnt collected taxes. If it is collecting its not going into the treasury. We have went from 3.1mill to 1.7mill in three weeks. One of my Citizens(charath) has donated 2.1mill to keep the city going.
All my Taxes are set
income 800cr
property 6%
sales 2%
travel 100cr
garage 5%
the city isnt seeing a dime!
Is this a known issue? or am i the only one?

I know that the sales tax going into nirvana is a knowen bug ... the other taxes I've never heard of them not working. But of course with income and property allone you can never pay for your city
We have 500cr + 10% property and are recieving something along 200-250k per week ... which isn't nearly enough to equal the 500k you have to pay for a metropolis with specialisation and very few gardens

---You aren't the only one. My Ticket (2106780) got the "check the help files" type of non-answer, with a comment that game systems were functioning as planned. Male Bovine Feces!
--I did a careful observation of the treasury just before and after Maintenance. It is simple arithmetic. The taxes aren't being collected. I have also kept up with the treasury this past week, and only a little money has trickled in, which I presume is donations (no way to tell you know.....)
--Here is my simple arithmetic:
Amount in treasury prior to maintenance 662,141
Maintenance weekly amount 172,000
-----------
Theoretical Balance 490,141
Actual Balance after Maint. 497,486
Difference (positive) 7,345 which indicate some income.
However, with 42 citizens and 2k per citizen tax, plus 5% sales tax 5% property tax and garage fees, the income is obviously lacking.
Even after four days the balance is only up to about 520,000 which I believe to be from donations (our citizens are pretty good about donations).
I sent the ticket back with a "please do the math" request. The silence is deafening.
For the past two weeks I have been suspicous about the tax income,.

Well I don't know about taxes not working.
FOr a check... go to the city terminal and record the balance. THEN an hour later check it again. If it's gone up... then you're more then likely collecting taxes.
Put it this way.
We have 52 citizens in Dohrian
2k income
5 or 10% property (I can't remember if I changed them or not)
100 shuttle
like 5% on garage or something
and 5% sales
We still don't make enough to cover city costs and we have but a few gardens and fountains and streetlights.
Oh well. In all likelihood the taxes aren't broken... they just aren't enough.

Our city has had this problem happening for a long long time now.
Here's some observations, discoveries, and advice:
Advice: Tweak your tax amounts a point or two in any direction. Sometimes just setting a new value is enough to kickstart them and get them functioning again.
Observations: On Income Tax, it seems like they are collected from citizens the first time that character logs in AFTER the last city update. If a citizen never logs in, you won't get their taxes. So you can't really depend on doing the math of # Of Citizens X Income Tax Amount = Total Income Tax Collected.
Also, Sales tax seems to be the buggiest tax of the bunch. We've done MANY experiments, and have found sometimes the treasury gets the tax, sometimes the vendor owner gets the tax, and sometimes nobody gets the tax and it vanishes into the bit bucket.
Discovery: I had a LONG on-going dialogue with a CSR about this problem back in February. I included my own daily logs of the Treasury level, as well as a ton of mathematical calculations how much we were expecting to make, and how much we were losing. He was very helpful, and looked into the City Maintenance Logs for me. Yes, logs exist showing some key City information. They have quite a bit of detail, but not everything. Basically, the conclusion he came to was that we were getting SOME of the taxes
End Result: The CSR acknowledged that there was a bug with taxes. And he forwarded all the information I provided and he collected on to the Devs. However, he could not tell exactly how much money we had lost because of the bugs. Therefore, he would not reimburse us any credits.
Hope that helps... Maybe this will be fixed.... someday...

Well income tax isn't dependent on someone being online. This I know for sure cause we've had citizens not be online for weeks at a time and we still got their tax. Now if they have nothing in their bank account... then this might be the case. I never looked into that.
But considering the devs aren't paying much attention to cities these (or so it seems) I don't think we'll get any real work/fixes anytime soon

this bug is a huge problem for those trying to actually manage their cities. It happened to us back in feb.
here is the fix and its by no means definate nor is it easy.
first change all of your taxes to 0
all of them!
then wait for the city update
change all of your taxes to the amount you intend to keep them at.
never touch them again!
after the next update ....yes one week /sigh the taxes should begin to calculate properly. It worked for us on the first try but others had to do it twice. The only ones that had a real problem with the tax changes were the merchants as some of them adjust their prices to include the calculation of taxes.

hon, putting "devs plz read" in all caps doesn't make them read it... it makes me feel funny reading it O.o but I *have* put it as one of our major bugs that need to be fixed. we'll see how long it takes...

Unfortunately, setting your shuttleport fee to 0 makes your shuttleport disappear from the map...AND the darn tax resets itself to 100cr at server restart. So I don't know how that can work, Zozo.
