Thread: Banned from a city that you live in?

I have declared residence in a city this morning and I was just citybanned. I thought this was impossible?

Did they tell you why you were citybanned??
And the only way to /cityban is to target that person and do the /cityban.
That is uncool, and I would email your mayor and ask why.
and than ask to be allowed to be pardoned to get your stuff and house and leave.
Not a good city if they ban you and don't tell you why.

I was also under the impression that you couldn't ban residents. Are you sure you're declared within city limits?

Try going to your house and declaring residence again. Thatmight lift the city ban.

Can't believe you actually posted that question in here.
For those that would like to know.
This person has somehow gotten zoning rights and placed a house in our 145 citizen city. (We are still trying to find who granted rights) The house was placed after a Imperial Base of ours was destroyed in the wee hours of morning. She or he then placed this house right where the base was, right in front of our city hall and central part of the city. Then named the house Rebels for teh Win. Then a few hours later was patroling a droid around our city named "DEATHgotserved" (Death is name of our guiild) Then in the wee hours of morn again, before the 24 hour timer had expired, they destroyed another of our bases and placed 2 rebel Bases smack dab in the middle of our city.
To make matters worse, she has also placed 6 venders with global advertising in the house she placed, that are name with remarks to make get upset. Like the rebels will takeover our city and much more.
I have filed a harrasment report on her for the droid and the venders. I know we cant do anything about the house and bases, since someone granted her rights. But I also beleive , and more so with this post that she is trying to take over our city somehow.
I am only the mayor of this city for the past 3 days, but have been a mayor since they were introduced. Have been in and out of these boards many times. For those that know me, know I tell the truth and have no need to slander someone. I am not a Combat player only in the game for the crafting and friendships.
I ask that you fellow Politicians, not to help her in anyway, and if you can show some support with the CSRs I would greatly appreciate it.

for the original poster, someone already answered the question.
as for the mayor, if this person is harassing your city and guild, a harassment report is the best thing to do; however, she has his right to stay in your city. the CSR will most likely remove or change the name of anything offensive, and you can see if they can help you with the situation (although not likely, it never hurts to try)
after this incident, you might want to educate your militia on zoning rights so this doesn't happen again.

Always sad to see such people do this and ruin the work that real politicans have putinto their cities. Such people fail to see how hardit is to setup a good cityfoundation and think they are funny by distrupting the city's organization. Those with the intent to harm the hard work of others really do not belong in the game.

I named the droid after I was getting cursed at by your guild in tells, and even a little in spatial. I'm talking bannable/suspendable offense cursing. The vendors; I gave Sergant admin to the house so he could put one up, and instead hecreated 6. Yesterday I told him to remove all but one, which will be stocked with spice and stuff for Rebels who use the house. I believe he has.

Such a said and tasteless situation. This is exactly the sort of thing why some form of system that makes it possible to have undesired players/structures removed from a city is so greatly needed.
Yes, I understand measures would need be in place to prevent such a system from being used to grief players - but is it not starkingly clear that it is needed in order to defend against griefing of a whole city as is the case here?

Though you may be thinking that this will make life easier being a rebel in the war what you might be doing is killing off any will that the Imperials in the city have for participating in the GCW. Your fun will then be gone and although you may have 'won' infact all you will be doing is losing what it is you love of the game, the conflict between the rebels and the imperials.
There is a line that shouldn't be crossed in the game. If crossed the game ceases to be fun and turns more into the real aspects war can create. Keep things civil and do the right thing by honoring the guild and the citizens of the city.

Incidents like this is why the Devs are considering removing the GCW from cities, increasing housing footprints to prevent walls, and possibly making it so bases can't be placed in cities.
Also to the original posters claims, if they were using offensive language then that still doesn't give you the right to harass them back, you should have filed your own harassment report.
As for the mayor, the first thing to do is remove everyone from the Militia but yourself. Until you can sort out who would betray your city in such a way. Also keep in mind as Mayor you can revoke anyones zoning rights, just target them and use the grandzoning rights command again....though this won't help if they can still get zoning from someone else in the Militia, which is why it sounds like you need to clear the militia. ( CSRs will definately change any offensive names in game...they won't delete the stuff, but they will change offensive names. )
