Thread: My final list of issues (Good bye and good luck)

Just a heads up. Since I'm leaving the game and no longer a correspondent, I wanted to make sure everyone had a couple of explanations.

There will be no Politician Top 5 whenever those do come out. The Top 5 for politicians was requested BEFORE the profession went live and the issues then are not relevant to today's game. I requested serveral times to submit a more relevant Top 5, but my queries met with no response.

I did, a few days ago, post an issues list to the correspondent forum that served as a summary of many of the most current, or still outstanding issues. I don't have a full copy of what I posted since I added to it during my posting and I no longer have access to that forum, but here's a partial list of what's been submitted as Politician and Player City Issues:

1. City Hall is too easily destroyed by disgruntled mayors. Perhaps remove the destroy building option and only allow destruction via lack of maintenance or citizens?

2. Politicians desire an alternate way of earning even minimal exp other than elections.

3. Pavement wanted. (This is in the works)

4. Reported election problem: If the race is a tie, the incumbent becomes mayor but the opponent gets default votes for next election if they choose to run again. I've only seen this reported once and cannot easily duplicate it.

5. Shuttle fees reset to 100 periodically. (This has been a long standing problem)

6. Some report that shuttles cease to function if the shuttle fee is set to 0. However, I have used shuttles with the fee set to zero so there may be some other factor.

7. Spynet operatives are highly desired for placement in cities. Perhaps add them as a feature of the martial line with different levels of op at different prices/skill boxes? Alternately simply add a low level spynet op to the FactionTrainer list and allow placement that way.

8. No way for a mayor or opponent to resign from an election. This becomes an imporant problem due to the auto voting of citizens. It is very difficult to garner votes for an opponent when you want to leave office when a high majority is needed. This is going to be a complaint that becomes more prevelant over time.

The argument that QA gave me on this issued is that a city hall should never be without a mayor. I don't feel this is a valid argument as it's quite easy to have the current mayor resign, but still finish out her term of office. Simply that there be conditions to the resignation.

Condtions would be as follows:

A. There must be at least one other candidate on the ballot.
B. Resignation would not give up the mayorship but instead give up the votes for herself.
C. At the time of election only votes for other candidates would be counted.

This would allow an out for a mayor who wanted to step down.

9. Mayors still need a way to see a structure's owner.

10. A breakdown of where city income comes from is much requested. For example, how much this week was collected from property taxes, sales taxes, shuttle fee, income tax?

11. A way to display city policies is still needed.

12. Exploit: (details removed for public posting)

13. Theaters still need fixed to work properly for the stage area.

14. House healing needs turned down to encourage player city structure use.

15. Entertainment healing needs to be removed from hospitals.

16. Militia removal seems to be fubar. Mayors get the message someone has been removed, yet they remain in the militia.

17. Bio Engineer trainers missing from the placement menu.

It's been a pleasure being here and I'm sorry I have to leave. I wish you all the best in the future of SW:G, and in life itself.

Good bye and good luck!

Plinka,

Excellent and comprehensive list. Yet another fine example of why you should not leave. The game will be worse off with your departure. Good luck with your future endeavours.

Actually, it's working as designed. The citizen who is to be added to the militia must be within 10 meters of city terminal and to be removed, they must also be within 10 meters of city terminal. Kind of makes it difficult to remove somebody who doesn't want to be removed, but it is working as designed. Too bad the design sucks.

I have tested and verified this.

Again with the leaving thing but we are all sad to see you go. SWG was made better with you, it will take a long time to find a replacement for such a great coorespondant.

As for you leaving SWG completely, sorry to hear that, but wish you the best of luck in your life.

Not trying to be mean or anything... Plinka was a great corespondent a week or two before the big city/mount patch came out... she gave all the info she could on the test center boards and was greatly appreciated for that. It seems that once she got her little title, the posts kinda died and the info was only partial as in "I'll tell you this but if I say that TH will threaten to throw me out of office", never have I heard or seen her take part in any kind of protest against our proffesion, never have I seen her actually telling us what the hell was going on with cities actually going anywhere (as in cities being more then just a city hall sitting in the middle of nowehere with a dozen houses around it and a med center that nobody uses)... sure the major bugs got fixed like city drift and missing xp (though some of it is still missing). Overall I'd say plinka had fun flashing her correspondent tag, that's mostly what she was good at. Again... not trying to be mean or anything I'll be amazed to see who get's the flashy badge next, will he/she put hope back into us? Or are we just meant to be the beta meat that we are currently?
