Considering the large number of CL1 Politicians....not such a good idea. Plus there isn't much reason for it.

Besides, any Politician that gets killed is assassinated; they don't get bounty's put on their head.

An assassin doesn't have to be a rifleman, just stealthy or creative. It was more a reference to a distinction made in Sondheim's "Assassins": "When you kill a president, it isn't murder. Adulterers and shopkeepers get murdered. When a president gets killed...when Julius Ceaser got killed, he was assassinated."

Politicians do have an ub3r skill that strikes fear in the heart of everyone..../cityban. Or we could tax the BH to death.

of course we would have to use the old "what if" senario

What if Politician could place bountys?...etc

This was just a thought , I know this sound like a bad idea at the moment,

but "what if" and is there any way it could happen?...any ideas

btw,. Amadala was hunted by a Bounty Hunter.

Awesome! As a BH and a Politician, I could hunt myself!
/sarcasm off

Bad idea. Nunas offer a better challenge than most Politicians. Head back to the Smuggler boards and get chummy with them again. The ideas floating around there ofr hunting Smuggler's had a lot of merit and fun potential, for both sides.

A fellow poster wrote this in BH forums regarding Politicians on the BH terminals,

since the politician proffesion doesnt take any skill points, you might want to rethink this request...lol. that means any elite battle proffesion can be a politician. Including Jedi.

a good reason for the politicians to get on the terminals is if their city looses status, ratings, population, or services.

But at same time I under stand as it was stated the majority of Politicians are CL1

Most stupid, degenerated arsehat idea I ever heard. Most politicians are non-combatent role players that take a lot of sacrifices to help out their community and invest a lot of time in organising events and making the game more fun for you and your friends. And you want to gank them while they help out new players or sort out cantina decoration? This idea can only come from a very sickmindthat thinks he can impose his arsehat playstyle onto others. Every thought of taking some medication?

I disagree. While it is very true that Politicians are generally non-combatants, I think the roleplaying opportunities associated with this would be very fun. This is not the first time this has been discussed. Would there have to be some thought into the Risk/Reward for hunting a Politician? Yes.

It might be that if a Poitician were assassinated there would be no penalty to the specific toon other than the obvious health loss. The impact might be that GCW score for the planet goes up in favor of the faction opposite of the Mayor. For neutral Mayors -- maybe they couldnt be hunted. Maybe the Mayors could only be hunted if they were a combatant or SF. On-leave and/or neutral players might not be huntable. Maybe a Mayor could only be hunted within the city of which he is Mayor? I am just tossing out ideas, which have all been discussed before.

Having run a city for two years I would welcome the "Threat" that this would bring to the game. It would make the community feel the need to protect the Mayor. At the least I might get a small security detail to protect me while I am out dealing with Harvestors. No more death by hordes of Gnorts. Now there is a nice thought.

I think that the idea of player bounties -- including Mayors -- is an idea which has a lot of merit in a game where PvP plays (pun intended) such a central role. Dismissing it out of hand is short sighted.

You cannot force something on someone, i dont care as my jedi knight is mayor so BH are nothing new to me but not everyone wants the hassle of someone with a full jedi killing PVP template jumping out at them when placing streetlamps. Give polis the ability to have 2 lvl 500 bodyguards they can hire and sure but until that happens no.
