last week in politics
this is my very last "this week in politics", as I've already turned in my retirement request in to Tiggs alone with my recommendations. No, they didn't kick me out... but I can't concentrate on my own work when I check the forum once every half an hour
I would like to thank all the folks on the forum who've helped me answer question on the forums and do testings on various politician issues... the dedicated posters that hang out and cheer me up when things seem hopeless. they remind me of what I'm fighting for
I'll still be around, I'm definitely not ready to quit the game yet
how are your cities? has CU affected your city in a significant way?
edit: why do I always forget to change the month when I copy/paste? whoops...

First off, I'm sorry to see you go. You are an excellent correspondent and whoever comes after you will have big shoes (or hawtpants
)to fill. ![]()
Second, my city (Defiance, Rori, Corbantis) is still slowly dying after the loss of every citizen except myself with the CU. The city I'm semi-moving back to (Desert City, Lok, Corbantis) is in a plateau stage. We're not gaining any new citizens, nor are we losing old ones.
On a brighter note, it will be the one year anniversary of Desert Rogues and Desert City this week, so I'll have to see what I can plan for that. ![]()
I have no doubt we'll still see you posting (nearly) everywhere
Just as Pappi the glowy rather than Pappi the corr. Wish I could make Fan Fest to buy youa drink but its a long walk from England
Maybe next year? (yes I said that last year too)
Seaview is surviving, there are some citizens absent since the CU hit but there is still a solid core of residents who aregoing to keepplaying, which is nice to see.

Well, Pappi, thanks for all you have done for the profession, even if it has been frustrating at times.
And thanks for the invite to the CU Alpha, despite some evil people trying to keep me out.
I really do appreciate that you looked at the situation impartially, and trusted that I would be able to adequately represent our profession. ![]()
And I'm still trying to figure out who you are on Chilastraso I canstalk you when I need a buff. ![]()
We have added 2 more residents, bringing out current population to 77 solid members. There are a few inactives but they have been so for quite some time, we have suffered only one loss due to the CU but that person decided to focus ona character on another server and still visits from time to time.
The treasury is doing well, We are se for about 22 weeks or uninterrupted opporation. Planning for the future and how we can maintain this, and place a plan to make it last much longer without any hardship to anyone.
Events... This week I will try to finish a plan for no less than 6 events of various themes... Not all events to be held in the city, rather events that citizens of our city as well as other players from outside to plan, facilitate and participate in. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks I will be ready to present this plan.
and last... Pappi, thank you for all you have done!

As I said to you privately, Pappi....thanks for everything you've done for the community. Live it up on Blue Glowy island!
As far as the question of how the CURB has affected my city, I'd have to say very positively. We've gained back a few people that we lost many months ago who were frustrated with the old combat system. We lost two (one an alt) citizens to the CURB, but we've gained more than we've lost. Activity in the city limits has been a bit decreased with the addition of ROTW and all of the quests, but most of the citizens are still together on those adventures so the camraderie is still there.
We've had an increase in traffic because of our Improved Job Market specialization. People are starting to realize that you can get challenging group missions and good payouts on Corellia without all of the headaches of going to adventure planets with endless aggros. The mission terminals during double xp week were busy enough to be considered crowded! We've got a lot of stocked vendorsin the merchant area, specifically two weaponsmiths and an armorsmith, so that's contributed to things as well.
We're 10 away from gaining Metropolis, but as always we're not worried about rank. The new expansion, and the changes on test, have opened up a lot of role-playing possibilities which is good for us. I'm hoping to have a good Day After Memorial Day bash at our weekly Tuesday party on the 31st, but we'll see how it goes since I'll be busy packing in RL for Fan Fest.
Thankfully Player Cities got separated from Economy on this year's schedule for Fan Fest. I hope to see many of you there!

I went to a ton of different cities right after the CU looking for armor...which I quit making with the new schematics that are just horridly involved...and so many of the cities are just ghost towns. Tons and tons of tents with no vendors or empty vendors. I asked some of the people around the towns about the vendor situation and was informed that people had left and did not take down anything.
I went to Cnet and looked at the tents that used to be THE place to buy and sell. Most all are empty, used for storage or sell looted items PERIOD. So many crafters have quit the game. I hardly sell anything compared to what I used to do. Well, that was more info than you wanted, but there it is.
