Thread: ATTN: Mayor Elects -- we need to train each other next week
I recommend that one of you from each server create a planning thread and post on your server to help organize training next week. Post a link to that thread as a reply to this one. I have started one on Chilastra and will post a link as a reply to this message.
You can use the following text as a template for yours:

Mayor's, we all just gave up 500 apprentice points and next week is a good chance for us to get some of those points back by training each other -- so here is what I propose: a training day event. If it works, we can make this a regular thing (almost like a galactic political convention![]()
We can plan in this event, figure out who is going to train in what -- and then divide up into groups so we can spread those apprentice points around.
I will have 2K XP, so I can train in two. I know I will be training in Fiscal I and my town is currently voting on the other skill I need to train in.
I figure that there are at least 30 of us/server (since the big three planets caped out).
So for each skill, we need to figure out who is going to pay for the training. Then after that, use this thread to find someone to train you in your skill, and then find some for you to train. That should get the apprentice points spread nicely.
We probably will end up with one mayor not being able to train someone. To be fair, we can just make sure next week that that mayor gets to train.

At that point you will also likely find out who the other ten mayors are on your planet.

Well I'm not sure it would take much organization. Basically you're going to have 10 politicians going to their capitol to get training at the same time. Just hang out the politician trainer around 1:15 PST / 4:15 EST next Thursday and I'm sure a handful of other politicians will be there for training.
At that point you will also likely find out who the other ten mayors are on your planet.
Sure, just what I want to do ... hang around all day. I posted the thread I did on Chilastra to minimize the time and maximizing the training. It will also be a good opportunity to get to know the other mayors. And the number is more than 10, because some of the higher cap planets have to come to the big three to train. But, if you don't want to do this -- it's your call -- I just put this out to help in folks organize and coordinate.

tip: paying the NPC trainer makes for instant training. If you're having difficulties paying a NPC trainer when being the Mayor fo a town, I don't want to look at your city treasury.
This isn't a credit thing it's an apprentice thing. We all just gave up 500 apprentice points -- as our cities grow, this is a good way to get those points back.
Furthermore, it presents a unique opportunity for various mayors to gather, interact, and perhaps take ideas back to their cities that enable them to better lead.
This is a great idea!
I am one of the new Mayors on Tatooine on Naritus... I've met one other, but would love to meet up with the others.
And can I just say once again - great job on the last patch SOE - this game just gets better every time!

Aliza: Right, although I did not think the App points issue to be so much of a problem. Citizens will gladly answer a mayor's call for app points when he needs to take Master Politician, or they should imho, after all it's for their welfare. Mayor meetings are otherwise a very good idea. That's kinda political.
Ah, sluggy, you are on to me
My true motive for doing this is to help naturally evolve an assembly of the mayors. I figureda weekly"training day" event would be a good icebreaker way of getting people to go and organize over a relatively simple thing. These type of ideas either take off or they don't. So, I will keep plugging it in the hope it gets some legs. If it does, I think we can add a whole new dimension to Chilastra.
If it does get legs, I was then hoping to get some of chilastra's major cities that weren't able to place involved. Had I had better notification on the 10 city cap, I would have started this process much sooner -- cause if we had an organization like this, I think as a communtiy we could have worked it out such that the smaller folks settled on the larger planets -- but that's not how it worked out ... sigh... As a result, cities like yours and Tempest Point don't have city halls ![]()
I am hoping that as we organize, the collective mayors (not just "official" ones, but including the mayors of cities that don't have halls)learn how tocoordinate to better the development the galaxy.
On Scylla's Corellia, a few of us are already talking and keeping in touch - lol, starting with camping together Wednesday night where we knew the politician trainer would show up the next morning, and congratulating each other that we were successful.
I was gonna try seeing if they also want together to train together, but just as a social thing. I don't know about you, but 500 appr points takes me only about 10 minutes to regain (or give to someone else). I'm already halfway back without even trying. And as to the cost of the training, right now our city doesn't have any taxes because a few of us dropped in a few 100K creds once the structure went up.
Well, this is slowly gaining traction on chilastra. I am going to set up a player event called "Training Day" for thursday.
I was also thinking that once the rank IV's start showing up with their shuttleports, each week a different mayor can host "training day" -- some of the visiting mayors can pick up the skills on the way, and then train folks when they get there.
But the real benefit will be to see up close the different cities and how each mayor is developing them.
If you are a mayor, you shouldn't be worried about spending a few credits on training...
In fact you should, like me, have your own political trainer in your office!
