Thread: Translators Needed
I need your help. Since my city of Valinor has been flooded with cred farmers as of late (I even moved the reb mission terminals onto the tops of private houses, removing them from the overhead maps, and they STILL come), I have tried to talk with them. However, I haven't found one that wishes/can talk to me. So, I thought it would be nice to greet them in their own language. So, can you reply to this thread with the translation in a language other than English of the following phrase:
"Welcome, Credit Farmer!"
Yes, this is a SERIOUS post. I'd like to be able to /tell the person in their native tongue if possible. I'd like to see if I get a response that way. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Anytime you see groups of credit farmers, drop a CSR a line giving them the names of the characters involved and the location they are running in. They have to investigate them for a few days, but they have been taking action against them and have shut down many groups.

As much as I loath CFs, are they in violation of anything?
I figure a statement like, "Welcome, credit farmer," gets the point across. I know what they're here for. THEY will know I know what they're there for. If they then reply "where are the reb faction terminals?" I city ban them and tell em to take a hike, as well as share the laugh with the entire city over our city chat tab.
Credit farmers leave TONS of mobs around your city, usually cl 80's that are willing to attack just about ANYONE they can shoot at. It's a safety issue for my citizens first. Second, they are profitting by exploiting (not SOE's definition, Webster's definition) something in the game that was not intended. They then sell these creds on online warehouse sites (you know where I'm talking about) for real money. Check out the threads on this forum regarding credit farmers.
Drevin, I'm right with ya buddy on telling em to leave. I've BEEN doing that, and getting no response. I'd like to personally find out if it's true that these credit farmers are sweatshop SWG "players" (more like slaves). If they respond to a certain language, I'll have more of a chance to figure out where THEY MIGHT be from. Just a little experiment.
I was hoping to get an honest response. PLEASE help me in that regard. Thank you.
ermm If you really want to, couldn't you try an online translator? I know they're not the best, but they may work.
"Willkommen Kreditbauer!"
I suppose that's the German translation. Only non-English language I know well enough to translate, and even then, I might have done it wrong. /shrug

Yes, actually. The reselling of in-game items/credits/accounts is a violation of the TOS. That is why they have to observe the accounts for a bit before they can take action.
I understand that your translation request was a legitimate question.
The only language I *might* be able to translate it into, though, would be Latin and I highly doubt these guys understand Latin. ![]()

Technically "I welcome money collectors", provided my conjugation is correct (it's been over 10 years!). Dead languages don't exactly translate to modern concepts well. LOL
Yay!

Chinese, Korean, and Japanese have romanizations for each character/syllable... for example, pinyin for Mandarin.
don't bother unless you already know which language/dialect they speak. Chinese isn't a nice language to figure out
