Thread: City Tax Poll For All Mayors
5% sales
10% property
100 shuttle
our sales tax was actually 10% before, after i started the weekly city hunts we gain enough money per week to lower the taxes
Our repair are 10%
sales tax 5%
no property or income
shuttle 100cr
We are having some hard time, but still kinda remain afloat due to donations.. also I am trying to do weekly hunting, but I have been moving and working a lot lately and no one taking the control.... so we might need to find other avenues.
We have 0% taxes.
How we manage? Any citizen that wants to can give away any free lots they have for a static harvester. We make about 3M a week from resource sales. We have about 160 harvesters placed. Of course they can reclaim the lot whenever they feel like it.
We make so much profit we have started giving money to citizens. They can apply for cash and give a reason why they should receive it. If the reason is good enough, they will get it.

0% taxes and a 100cr Shuttle Fee.
Whilst not everyone who has millions of credits is a duper - some of us have worked damn hard to get to where we are through good advertising, even better selling and through quality products. So please don't go insulting those of us who work hard to get to where we are by assuming that everyone with money is a credit duper
.
Myself and a few of the wealthier citizens happily tip our own monies in each week to fund the 600k+ cost of running the city. IfI have a good week and make a few million credits, then I'll tip 500k in. Each week I ask that everyone pitch in and run at least 2 missions a week, the proceeds of which go to the city. Others sell their services or offer the proceeds from every 20th sale into the city. We are in surplus to the tune of 10 weeks maintenance, a figure which grows each week through voluntary donations.
The point is that everyone chips on their own volition. They aren't forced too. I don't need to run around and hastle people to contribute (and I know that some of the newer characters can't and actually get equipment donated to them by the wealthier citizens). We run our city as a community, we all help each other (as communities do), and those of us who can do more, do so, those who can't, do what they can.
To my mind, there is no difference between me with millions tipping 500k in, or someone with 10k giving 100 credits. Our philosophy is, if they like to be part of the city and like what we do, then they will help out. And it works.
To date, we have found thatthe vast majoritywish to contribute, as they know that its their money in the city, not some hated tax or surcharge, it instills everyone with that vital sense of belonging makes the city a better place to live, work and play.

Our cityhas no tax at all - for the simple reason, we want players to join and stay and a tax is just apain in the butt to everyone. Newer players are busy enough running missions to join a faction, trying to make some credits for themselves andbusy workingtowards their first profession(s).....it'shard enough for them to just topay their houseand speeder maintenance. We live on donations to the treasury. I do like the idea that was posted earlier about citizens running 2 missions on a weekly basis and contributing them to the treasury. I may incorporate that. I think, players would even enjoy contributing that way rather than being taxed.
I'm not a "credit duper" either. But I am a master architect as well as mayor. I have donated plenty of my profits to the city (over 6 million)because Icare for our city's successand it'scitizens - that doesn't includethe joining perks Ialso give every new citizen (a house, speeder and some starting credits).
