Thread: Please remove condemned structures

There is this little thing people like to do or do not even care about... what happens after they leave the game. Many people that leave and also many that change there style of play etc. just leave there structures in an around a city, not caring what becomes of them. In the case of houses this is a problem, thoug a minor one in the case of harvesters and factories this can become quite annoying. In past times one could hope for the decay of those things, them they drew upon the store moneyfunds of people elongating their lifespan, now they are condemed when all themoney is gone and there is no way to get rid of them exept one. One could ofcourse ask the owner to remove them... if the factories and harvester would show the owners name, and ofcourse if they those peole are still ingame - this mostly means they will stay... forever.

I now have several smoking harvesters (partialy organized in fields) around the city and some really disturbing factories inside of the "new" city boundaries ( we grew a stage a some weeks ago) that prevent a whole new block to be build.

To our correspondent please, please try to do something there, so that we don't have our cities chained by condemnedstructures. An option for the mayor would be nice to remove condemned structures... or just to have it back the way it was.

P.S. - I still am shocked by the medium Naboo style nerf.... if there must be a radius, it doesn't have to be that be big, has it.

The solution is in the works, I know that much, but there isn't much more that can be done about it right now. I know it's a big issue for many, but the fact that it is in-development already is a good sign. Technologically the system they are creating to deal with condemned and abandoned structures is a difficult one, but once it's done it will have benefits beyond that initial purpose (like allowing players to roll-up houses in order to move to a new location).

I've asked for more information and an approximate time line on it, but there isn't any concrete information to give out.

Perhaps this can also be adapted to the use of "landing" a POB? Something to talk to the pilot corr about perhaps?

SOE, think about every non-Jedi "cancelled" signature you've seen, and remember that there will be more as you forget the communities that makes this game's heart and soul. Entertainers, Crafters, Hybrids, Non-Jedi Combats, and Smugglers. When you are closing shop on SWG, remember that you ignored the REAL community to cater to an alpha class that assured this game would never be "balanced."

They (the Devs) were talking about this back at Fanfest. It would be nice to see some progress... I have abandoned structures preventing placement by people still paying to play the game.

No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Remember... to Cancel you have to go to Register Expansion in the Launchpad.

I have a city with 60 residents waiting for another to fall so we can get a level 4 credential. Be nice to see some of the dead cities finally dead.......

Been a month and nothing. Getting a little frustrating. Hard to tell my residents why we cannot get a shuttleport for the fourth week in a row. And they ask every week.

Well, I have the same problem with players that have been away for a year or more, blocking building space, active players would like to use. Sad thing is... once the devs remove those houses, my city willbe/look ruined, as they changed (nerfed) the building zones for Medium Naboo style houses. This Change has ruined the outer rim of the city already and I guess the developers did either not think this through or did not care what that change would do to cities on Naboo.

Bah... I should stop to think about that... but driving through my beloved city reminds me of ti every single time.

And I even have citizens... that seemed decent, but once they realized, that they want to leave the game they become morons. One even left his Large House standing and put an inacceptable name to it - the CSR just anwsered my ticket with the standart, "we will take care of that player, please file a new ticket if you experience more trouble with him". I won't experience anymore trouble with him... he left, they can ban him as many times as they want, he doesn't play the game anyways. I just wanted the name changed, as they won't remove the house. Ah, well, we all know about support.

One sugesstion would be to grant the politicain the power of eminent domain over condemned Structures. This way the Mayor can "roll up" condemned structures within city limits and have that "rolled up" structure be placed in the owners inventory. This power wouldbe useable only oncondemned structures.

We had a citizen put bad stuff on his structure and got a CSR to go in and change the structures name so have faith and stay on them and they will do it. I am sorry for the problems you are having. It is tough to see people that are going to have hardships with something that will give me and others glory. I do hope you see the good in unused structures going bye-bye even if they will hurt.

From experience I can tell you that if you stay strong you can overcome a city going down the tubes. We were a metropolis right after player cities showed up but then after jedi started to be well known our guild lost 50 people in a month and our city got down to 11 residents. We struggled for a year but now we are back up to 57 residents are just waiting for another city to go down to get our shuttle once again. So stay strong and good things will happen.

Thanks for the nice words there. I will stand there and be there for the city, as I always did, we had good and bad times andwemanaged to work the city from unstable 55 to about 90 more or less constant citizens - sadly not all active. We had the chance for even more expansion, which did not come to pass because of condemmed structure, structures on cancled accounts and the medium naboo style nerf. All of that brought my nerves down a bit .

Oh and... I really much like the tone of communication on this board, seems somewhat civilized

Well put!

I think it comes from the fact that as Mayors, we're accustomed to looking out for everyone else. We interact with many different professions, and come from many different backgrounds ourselves since there isn't a "Politician template". That just carries over to the forums, too.
