WHOOPS!
this week's been kinda strange... the 3 day weekend really threw me off O.o sorry about the late post, this will be a short one anyway
nothing really happened in the city. folks haven't logged in as much, so the city's a bit more quiet... I log in every day still to make sure everything's going well. I recently put a fountain at a corner I want to reserve for future important buildings, next to the cantina owner's house. he loves his new "hot tub"
Curby (militia) has continued the loot vendor with my boyfriend's vendor's help, and it's raising some money for our treasury
I haven't been able to reproduce the city mailing problem everyone's been having, so I would appreciate any info you guys can give me (please post it in this thread). hopefully I won't forget to post next week... how was your city?

Dear Pappi:
Rauha, Naboo (Starsider)
Nothing much going on in the city this week. Have had some probings for citizenship by some people, and perhaps we'll be able to replace our cantina and Visitor Center this week. Hopefully.
I've been busy with 2 beta games this week, so haven't instigated anything with the city. We're kinda taking it easy after last weekend's big bash.I made a short video of the fireworks celebration--see it here. We had a band and everything, and the pulltab/raffle was a success. Gave away an AV-21 and 2 full suits of 3x80% composite. I think most people had fun and we even had the fun suspense of Swar rollling the dice for the raffle ticket #...I drew it out as long as I could prior to each number. I think most got the joke
All in all, a satisfying week thus far.

Pappi,
I created a character on TC to try out some stuff and have been hanging around your city. It is very nice
Update on Triumph, Naboo (Gorath)
Well, Triumph is bustling with activity. With one of the best malls on Gorath and two of at most five rebel detachment headquarters on the server Triumph sees a lot of casual player activity as well as PvP activity. Strinking the balance is tough.
On the downside, even though we are arguable one of the most active rebel cities on Gorath we are stuck at rank 3 due to cap even though our city hall shows a population of 90. I must admit though that I am pleased I was able to squeeze 90 people into the rank 3 radius

You weren't on when I was there
Overall TC seems pretty quiet tonight. I am guessing since it is a Friday night. Also the TC-Ahazi is probably drawing a lot of people too.

Azalus, Dantooine (Kauri)
This week I started a new city to be the new home of our guild. The city is only 5 days old and already has 22 citizens, with more to come. Our city consists of homes and a guild hall right now, but after the first election we will grow one level, and get a cantina and some mission terminals. I really like my layout so far, the terrain is working pretty well with me.
The city is pretty quiet most of the day, but out guild hall does bring some regular activity to the city. As soon as we get more amenities, I'm sure we'll see a boost in activity.

Imperious Novus, Dantooine on Intrepid
I have taken office of the city recently, a city of 104 citizens was no easy task to get all the votes needed to get into office but it was done. The city is always full of people and fairly busy I was able to take down some statues and re place them infront of the guild hall. I put redstreetlamps under the guild leaders statues and they look really coolwhen they glow red at night. I plan to place statues infront of the city hall representing previous mayors of the city as well, kind of like a historical timeline so that it is there for the future years to come. The city is home to the Elite Imperial Syndicate and it is currently under discussion right now to expand to a second city on another planet geared more strongly towards pvp though we are still tossing that thought around.

That was an awesome video! Great camera work almost all the way through and wow does your city ever look handsome...
Ofcourse it probably would look better than mine since you actually have flat terrain.. lol

Northstar City, Naboo (Eclipse)
Our previous mayor had announced his intent to retire from the game, so we began the process of trying to get enough votes to elect my character Volund Ozzidh as mayor. The voting came down to the last half hour before we had enough votes.
Unlike the last time we switched mayors, once the vote went through, the transition was smooth and I immediately gained access to my abilities.
However, this election makes me dread October, when we find out how many of our citizens are really gone.

I have 2 chars that figure prominently on Starsider. I tried having them both at the party, but couldn't do it and FRAPS at the same time (ugh)
So I had to hurry some of the filming to catch the fireworks, since I was also trying desperately to stock 75 items on the vendor (the raffle) before the fireworks ended. I woulda had more footage of the actual party, but unfortunately crashing makes a FRAPS file unusable

I have an RP city on Scylla's Tatooine just south of Jabba's - feel free to come see it - I'm trying to set it up as a stage for RP, sort of to be like an NPC town. I'm very proud that I managed to work across factions and guilds to get enough residents to grow each week after founding to culminate in the shuttleport on August 2nd.
Right now I'm experiencing the frustration we all have of our existence depending entirely upon other players. I keep losing residents from people not talking to me first and making assumptions - I had over 70 at one point but am now down to 56 ... it's going to take over a month and a half to master politician at this rate.
The payoff for the skill points invested in politician are so low - could we not have some sort of adjustment I wonder in that if you have an elite profession the skill point requirement for mayor becomes 1 skill point a box. There is so little that it does ... especially master ... to warrant the investment, especially of the master box being a cost of 6 like a basic profession rather than the 1 of an elite ... I so wish politician had the skill point cost of an elite profession rather than a basic.
A question I had - there isn't a point to having master politician other than to be able to set the city to industrial or scientific, right? There are no diminished costs or increased bonuses ... wouldn't it be more meaningful to be a master politician if it automatically granted your city all the bonuses as long as you maintained being master? Something like the bonuses of specializations as well as a 25% reduction in the costs of whatever level your town is at ... I know of no power gamers that bother with being a politician ... it's not like some changes such as these would throw off anyone's balance.
Yeah, I'm just a little discouraged right now. This is the second city I've founded ... it's just so much work and nobody knows about it other than other city founders and sometimes PA founders. Addition: the reason being for discouraged feeling is that I've gotta wait til after I master politician and set the city specialization to scientific society to be able to begin the other profession choices I want to do because of the skill point cost in mastering politician.
