Thread: A Jedi Council

I didnt know where exactly to post this but since this is for player associations and groups, i figured it was the closest thing.
Like most ideas, im sure this one has come up from another player atleast once in the past. But the idea that I am proposing now is the creation of a Jedi Council. Instead of forcing jedi into PvP and the GCW why not allow them to do the real deeds of a Jedi... serving. The Council could give new jedi the ability to take missions/quests which would involve helping NPC's in a long drawn out quest. It would take alot of time and thought to add all this but it would be nice for the jedi to be able to go out and do quests that give them a more "Jedi" feeling... it would also be good for all the Roleplay jedi who want to play the role of a jedi, not a uber fighter in PvP...
I know this goes against the storyline, surely there is no jedi council but since the game has drifted so far and jedi are going to be sticking around as long as SOE is in charge, then you might as well make it "Semi-Star Warsy"...
Just having the jedi a part of a council and doing good deeds for the citizens and fighting the darkness would be nice... Allow the Jedi and Dark Jedi to fight among themselves but we shouldnt be seeing jedi killing innocent people in the cities... Protectors of the peace... not soldiers...
The addition of a jedi council is just my idea at the moment.. and im running out of time so I will have to add more to this later...

I would like to see something along the lines of this as well. I do intend on doing the pvp thing once i reach knight, but i would be much happier if that would only be for fun, and the role of my jedi in the galaxy would be to serve in a council. All in all, i think it would be a neat addition. Perhaps even giving those the option to take this route to master would be nice. However, that would truely be a difficult system to work out.

That is a greatidea, but from a continuity point of view, having a council would bring much unwanted attention from the Emperor and Vader. If you have played KOTOR 2, the Jedi Council disbanded to hide from the Sith, which is basically what Jedi who have escaped the purge are doing now, not hanging out together so they can't be all slaughtered at the same time. Just my 2 cents

My friend, this is exactly what Jedi needs. There’s nothing more wrong that Jedi having to kill to advance. I can’t possible imagine Yoda or Quigon Jen killing everything that moved on Endor to advance, of turning into a “Jedi Bounty Hunter” to become a Jedi Master. The current advancement system is mindless, and nothing like Jedi should be; the FRS is worse…..
I can only hope that some of the new Devs will bring a new prospective to the game and look at Jedi, seeing that we’ve been turned into thugs, mercenaries, and murders; this is clearly not what Lucas intended Jedi to be. I can’t imagine anything that would improve my enjoyment of this game more then a system like you suggest.

Yey! And all the council leaders can be fight club to gain the rank.
