Thread: Help on starting a guild.. ways to get members

Well trying to start a guild on Bria, and the problem is getting people to join..
So what are good ways to go about it?

Read some bio's of people and see if they have "want to join a guild" or something like in it and then just chat to them and see if they are interested.
Go on group hunts (rare but bored vet's might come) and just talk to people some might wanna join
and just try other methods like this and you will get a few people, after a while if you are a good guild (i.e. not griefing ect..) then you will get people contacting you. just remember dont annoy people, if you do this people will not join you.

Thinking of doing that... simply pick up newbies and run around hunting with them once I finish my grind up the commando flamethrower tree.

Before you start to recruit for your new guild you have to answer some questions about your guild.
1. Is your guild factional?
if yes what faction?
2. What is the purpose of your guild?
Crafting
Bounty Hunters
PvP
PvE
Grouping
Entertainer
Mofia
Military
Roll Player
Self Sufficient
ect
3. What kind of people do you want in your guild?
Friends
Anyone
Over 18
Under 18
Profession Specific
Mature
ect
4. Who will decide who joins?
Members
Officers
anyone who applies
friends of members only
5. What process will determine if they join?
guild themepark
interview
sponsorship
6. Will there be a probationary period?
How long
try before you buy?
guild review
once your in your in?
Once you have answered these questions you can write a guild charter stating the rules of your guild, Make it clear what kind of guild you want and who can join. and dont starport spam, post on your server's PA listing as well as advertise using your ingame bio. Amazingly people do read those. Once your guild is established let its actions speak for it, and dont go bragging about it. The guilds I respect the most are the ones that the players actions and the rest of the server promote the guild and the leaders dont say Oh check out my guild its great
