Ok, so we've got some new looting features (from a patch or 2 ago). Master Looter, Lottery or Free For All.

Master Looter = Group Leader or can the leader set somebody else to do it?

Free For All = like the old system

Lottery = Choose what you want from the window in 30's, you can choose all or select what you want from the list and click select.

So if there are 2 items and 2 people in the group and they choose both the items they get 1 each. This is good for most items but get's very annoying when you are looting a lot of items that are identicle. For instance if you go into the geo caves you are looting a lot of geo cubes which are identicle. So if there are 4 identicle cubes and 2 ppl in the grp and you both click all. You are going to get 2 cubes each, they are near useless at this ammount and this also counts for any other type of loot that is/needs to be identicle for it to be of any use.

So my question is, is this by design or is it a bug. Im guessing design but this needs to be change IMO, if grouping is going to become more common after the CURB and im sure a lot more identicle items will be useful post CURB than they are now.

Yes, it's by design and it's the only way the group loot will function properly. It's supposed to split up loot rather than give it all to one person, that's why it gets split regardless of whether it's identical or not. Whether that will change or not via the CU, we'll find out. Hopefully the items will just stack since they are identicle, that's more important than trying to make them all goto one person. If they are stacked, then it will all goto one person anyways.

As for loot options, the Master looter can be anyone in the group, the leader chooses who it is.

cool..thx for the answers and yes stacking identicle items would be a hell of a lot better

Easy way round it - when the window pops up with things that are identical - take turns taking the items..
